IP Workshop summer edition to take place for the first time online, between August 3-15
Between August 3-15, 2020, the 14th edition of summer school “IP Workshop” brings together, with the support of eMAG, 60 students from Romania, Slovakia and Hungary who will participate in IT courses and entrepreneurship supported by teachers from Romania, USA and Slovakia.
During the summer school, which will take place for the first time in the online environment, pupils and students will participate in courses and practical workshops in the following areas: cyber security, Internet of Things, Machine Learning, web development. In addition, presentations and workshops will be organized with the aim of developing their entrepreneurial spirit. Thus, together with Prof. Mark Wilson from the University of Rochester, New York, and Flavia Oprea, PhD student at the Polytechnic University of Bucharest, they will learn how to validate a business idea, how to negotiate an investment and how to hold a presentation.
The purpose of the summer school is to create an environment in which, for two weeks, young people who share a passion for technology to work together and develop their knowledge in various specialized fields. Thus, the “IP workshop” summer school complements the traditional school, by applying general knowledge in current fields.
Many of the “IP Workshop” alumni now work, in the country or abroad, in renowned technology companies or have developed their own businesses. This year, the opening ceremony of the event will take place on August 3 at 19:00, the main guest being Anca Dragan, lecturer at UC Berkeley, specializing in robotics, with a focus on algorithms that govern the interaction between humans and robots.
