eMAG enters final stage of merging with Extreme Digital in Hungary
The merger between eMAG and Extreme Digital has entered the final stage, enabling Hungarian customers to access almost 4 million products from a single platform, eMAG.hu, including the eMAG mobile application. In addition to simplifying the shopping experience, the more than 2 million eMAG customers in Hungary will benefit from access to more products, better prices, greater convenience through delivery and return to high standards.
Thus, this year eMAG, together with the courier company Sameday, will expand the easybox network in Hungary from 450 to 700 units, to offer customers an experience that responds to new consumption habits amplified by the rapid evolution of ecommerce, longer for important activities in their lives, but also savings on personal budget. At the same time, delivery will be accelerated with the completion of the 100 million euro investment in the first eMAG warehouse outside Romania, located in Dunaharaszti, near Budapest, at the beginning of 2023.
At the same time, the new warehouse will facilitate customers in Hungary. access to an even wider range of products in all categories. According to market research firm GKID, eMAG is the leader in the online e-commerce sector in Hungary. The local eMAG Marketplace platform contributes significantly to this, where more than 2,000 Romanian partners are active, which generate more than 40% of the platform’s revenues.

In view of the international expansion, which represents a growth pillar for the development of the company, eMAG started last year an investment plan of 785 million lei for the next two years.
