AVE (The Association for Values in Education) strengthens its presence and involvement in the transformation of the educational system and launches the Program for the Transformation of Schools in Romania, a broad initiative, through which it aims to more effectively support schools in Romania. The program integrates expertise honed in previous projects, being built in such a way that enrolled schools receive support according to specific needs.
The Program for the Transformation of Schools in Romania has a duration of three years and is addressed to all school units in urban and rural areas. Executives interested in the program can apply until October 1, 2023.
“Starting from the experience we have accumulated so far through the programs and projects we have run year after year at AVE, we realized that we can support schools in Romania even better if we put all this expertise under the umbrella of a single program. Thus, they will be able to offer support to each school according to its specific needs, starting from a first stage of discovery, which will indicate to us the areas in which the school is already performing, as well as those that can be directions for growth. We refer here to a wide range of needs, such as developing the professional skills of principals and teachers, creating a culture of continuous growth, increasing the level of cooperation between teachers and especially support for the development of children’s skills. The experience of the last years shows us that the transformation that schools need starts first of all with the principals and their teams, they are the catalysts for change, that is why we focus our attention in such a way as to give them the support they need”. says Silvia Toth, AVE Educational Programs Director.
Scholarship of 60,000 lei per year for school units that enroll in the Romanian School Transformation Program
Kindergartens, schools or high schools from localities with diverse socio-economic levels are expected to enroll in the program, and the main criterion for entering the program will be the school’s motivation and determination to make a change with a positive impact on the students. The cost for a school unit to participate in the program is 60,000 lei for one year, but with the support of partner companies, AVE makes 200 scholarships available to public schools.
Private schools are eligible to participate in the program, but are not eligible for scholarships. Schools can learn more about the program by signing up for an informative webinar Schools interested in applying are invited to participate in an explanatory webinar, where the Romanian School Transformation Program and its benefits for the school will be presented in detail, by completing this online form by October 1, 2023 at the latest.
Those attending the information session will be able to complete the AVE masterclass on learning for transformation, which will be available as an online learning experience, covering topics such as self-leadership and how adults in a school can to create a developmental experience for themselves as well as for every student in the school. Following this masterclass, the school can formally enter the Romanian School Transformation Program.
The Romanian Schools Transformation Program, developed by Romanian and foreign experts in education The Romanian School Transformation Program is developed in partnership with education specialists from Romania, Australia and the United States of America.
It contains elements perfected through the Academy of Leadership and School Management, Edu Networks and HumanKind programs, but it is also inspired by international practices. The aim of this program is to contribute to the profound transformation of schools in Romania in such a way that students make visible progress in each of the eight key competences, such as: literacy, digital skills and socio-emotional competences, identified by the Council of the European Union as necessary to enable personal fulfillment, a healthy and sustainable life, employability, civic engagement and social inclusion.
