Genpact continues investment in Iași with opening of new delivery center

Genpact has expanded its Iași team to over 650 in just 18 months, growing client capabilities while creating new opportunities for local talent
Genpact, a global advanced technology services and solutions company, today announced the opening of its new delivery center in Iași, Romania, underscoring the company’s ongoing commitment to growth and innovation in the region. With more than two decades of experience shaping Romania’s business sector, Genpact continues to enhance its local presence by integrating industry-leading technology and specialized expertise to support global clients and empower local communities.

Genpact employs 5,000 professionals in Romania. Its Iași team has expanded quickly, growing from just a handful of professionals to more than 650 in 18 months. This growth highlights the region’s robust talent pool and Genpact’s confidence in the region’s potential.
Central to Genpact’s strategy is significant investment in training its teams on emerging fields, including Generative AI, Agentic AI, and other emerging technologies. Through Genome, the company’s proprietary learning and development platform, Genpact equips its teams with the skills they need to advance its AI-first strategy, driving innovation and technological leadership.
“Iași is strategically important for Genpact and our growth journey,” said Marina Vernetti, Chief Operating Officer, Genpact EMEA. “Recognized as a dynamic technology and talent hub within EMEA, the region provides outstanding opportunities to scale high-value services and accelerate digital transformation. Our new center is designed to bring together top talent and advanced technology to solve complex challenges for global clients. This expansion reinforces our long-term commitment to fostering growth and prosperity for both our employees and the local community.”

Genpact partners with leading local institutions, including “Alexandru Ioan Cuza” University, Teach for Romania NGO, and regional professional networks. The collaboration with “Alexandru Ioan Cuza” University exemplifies Genpact’s dedication to nurturing future leaders and facilitating specialized workshops led by company experts. Students gain practical skills in AI, and related fields, areas in which Genpact has deep expertise and real-world application experience. These educational initiatives are essential components of Genpact’s broader vision to equip talent with the skills needed to thrive in the rapidly evolving future of work.
“Genpact’s continued expansion in Iași highlights the city’s rising role as a hub for innovation, technology, and talent across Europe,” said Daniel Juravle, Deputy Mayor, Iași. “This expansion strengthens Genpact’s partnership with the region and creates new opportunities for the local workforce, contributing to Iași’s economic and social vitality. We appreciate Genpact’s commitment to investing in the community, supporting education, and driving innovation.”
“We are proud to expand our footprint in Romania, right here in Iași, a city where history meets the future,” said Alexandru Stoenescu, Country Leader Romania, Genpact. “With two decades of industry leadership in Romania, we remain committed to strengthening our presence and shaping the future of business through expertise and innovation.
