Phil Aboud Appointed as International CEO of M247 Europe

M247 Europe, a leading provider of cloud and data center services for local and international markets, announces the appointment of Phil Aboud as International CEO. He succeeds Martin Ford in leading the Bucharest team and will focus on expanding into new markets and implementing a strategic growth plan for the company’s data center footprint in Romania.

M247 Europe has been expanding its global network since 2024, adding new points of presence. Following the successful launch of operations in Helsinki, Atlanta, and Chicago, the company plans to open a new site in Boston in May 2025. The expansion targets mature markets with high hosting adoption rates and regulatory advantages, enabling M247 to deliver a broad portfolio of value-added services, including content streaming, IoT, global cloud, data transport, AI inference, and STaaS. Some of these services are already operational, while others are undergoing beta testing.

Additionally, M247 plans to automate dedicated server sales, significantly reducing manual order processing through self-service provisioning and automated billing systems. Moreover, the company will implement AI-driven ticket automation to streamline support operations and significantly reduce average resolution times in the near future.

In Romania, M247 Europe is developing a medium and long-term strategy to expand its data center capacity efficiently and sustainably. The plan includes expanding the existing Pipera Data Center in 2025 and launching a new high-density site designed to support power-intensive hardware, including AI workloads, in 2026.

In 2024, M247 Europe reported consolidated revenues of 142 million RON, driven by significant growth in cloud, colocation, and connectivity services. Profitability also improved, reaching approximately 23% of total revenue. To support its growth objectives, the company is implementing a Tier 1 ERP system, enabling real-time financial insights, automated order processing, and enhanced operational efficiency.
