Sandu Băbășan exits the Blugento’s management and invests in the accelerated development of tech startups where he is a shareholder
Sandu Băbășan, entrepreneur, investor and co-founder of Blugento, a Cluj company specialized in providing eCommerce solutions, leaves Blugento’s management, after 6 years, in which he held the position of CEO.
He remains a shareholder in Blugento, while the management of the company is taken over by Vlad Stănescu, co-founder and, previously, CTO of the company. Sandu Băbășan will dedicate most of his time to the development of the Nooka Space project, the first global network of smart offices, already present in 6 European countries, including Romania. At the same time, it is focused on the development at international level (EU, US, UAE) of a network of business and investment partners, with the help of which to support the accelerated growth of start-ups globally. In 2022, Sandu Băbășan estimates that he will attract financing for development of over 5 million euros in the companies in which he is a shareholder.
In recent years, serial entrepreneur Sandu Băbășan has developed and invested in several projects, being currently a shareholder in 8 companies: Nooka Space, Blugento, Autodeal (the most complex and complete application for managing costs and car obligations available in Romania), Robin Good (business development project dedicated to Romanian start-ups), StageMe (Romanian-German start-up, developer of the live video streaming solution for eCommerce), Bookr (online booking platform), iVox (online public opinion polling platform) and CashControl (online personal finance management application).
“I am leaving the Blugento execution area, after the business has demonstrated its potential to expand regionally, and I intend to contribute to the development of the Nooka Space smart office network, continuing to invest in early stage start-ups, where my know-how in the area of internationalization can really make a difference “, says the series entrepreneur Sandu Băbășan, mentioning that he intends to invest, this year, in several companies from Romania or developed by Romanians in the Diaspora. “In the first phase, we are considering investments in technology projects, which have the capacity to scale internationally and have the potential to develop digital communities.”
Sandu Băbășan, 39 years old, is a graduate of the Faculty of Economics, from the West University of Timișoara and has been an entrepreneur since 2005, immediately after graduating, when he started a business in the online industry.
He later developed, together with Vlad Stanescu, the software development agency MindMagnet, in 2009, through which he built turnkey online stores for international customers, the company being subsequently acquired by the software solution provider Pitech Plus. He channeled his efforts towards the development of the businesses in which he is a shareholder, managing to attract several rounds of financing for their development, the most important being the investment of 1 million euros in Blugento, in 2019, of the Polish group R22, thus accelerating the development. international company.
