ROXANA MILAS, People Experience Director, Central East Europe, Microsoft Romania: The traditional role of managers has evolved to enablers and supporters
“The way we see it, the global labor market is going through major transformation. According to global studies, 54 per cent of employees require significant upskilling and reskilling, yet, the skill gap is growing.”
The statement has been uttered by ROXANA MILAS, People Experience Director, Central East Europe, Microsoft Romania within today’s THE DIPLOMAT BUCHAREST’s fifth Edition of LEARNING & DEVELOPMENT CONFERENCE in online format, on 25th of February, 2021
“Within a company, in our opinion, everyone can be a leader or at least, has a role in creating a learning environment within the organization. We need to enhance this approach to be able to push the learning agenda and close the mentioned skill gap.
The managers will still exist in their formal way, but their role has transformed. They are now enablers and supporters at every work level for their teams. The empathy and the ability to understand what others may feel or think, to overcome the resistance, is just another tool in practicing the leadership. And a great way of doing this is to test the upskilling approach on themselves. From our experience, its is worth for leaders and L&D managers to test different upskilling approaches on themselves. Also, very important within organizations is to enable the mentorship and coaching approach.”
The event has been supported by DIAMOND PARTNER: Wipro, GOLD PARTNERS: PwC, ACCA, Lovering& Partners, Business Performance Consultants, MEDIA PARTNERS: Outsourcing Today, Automotive Today, Financial Inteligence, Economistul, Romania Durabila, Club Economic, Bursa.
The series of events dedicated to LEARNING & DEVELOPMENT depicts the current trends and how they affect the business and the employees and commit to making positive changes within business organizations and working teams.
The role of L&D broadened even more in a year of unprecedented change and L&D managers needed to rethink their approach in pursuing the targeted objectives. Remote-working teams and individuals needed to embark and adjust to new L&D processes and the way of doing things has fundamentally changed.
