CEO LEADERS DEBATE, Vivek Bakshi, Wipro Technologies: “We have noticed an increase in productivity, an increase of customer satisfaction”
Work from home is going to demand higher levels of trust and a high level of empathy from our leaders and our managers. We did not suffer one day of productivity decrease during this time. In Europe, we were able to bring our workforce home within one week. Globally, it took us around 20 days. 95 percent of our global workforce works from home at this moment,” Vivek Bakshi, General Manager, Wipro Technologies said during the CEO LEADERS DEBATE at the Business Services Forum & Awards 2020, organized by Outsourcing Today and The Diplomat-Bucharest on July 15 th.
“We have also noticed an increase in productivity, an increase of customer satisfaction. We have seen an increase of productive hours. We had to actually tell people that work from home it does not mean 24/7. It is difficult to define boundaries, when does work start and when does it stop. Everything is now online. We have found people working more on weekends. We had to tell people to take even leaves. It is about mental health. If you do not disconnect, if you do not step away, it’s detrimental to your productivity and your eventual performance on the customer,” he explained.
“You have to understand people have challenges working from home, you need to trust more, you need to trust employees doing their job and not work three hours a day, but also not work 24 hours per day. The whole idea is to redesign our operating model. Most of our employees in Romania would like to come to the office but not more than 2-3 times a week. I don’t think we will go back to a 5-day working routine from office week.”
