“During this period, we have conducted different studies and we have also had various community meetings within the company. One of the most active community was a parenting group where parents were sharing their challenges in the current context. This community formed itself especially because we were surveying among employees to find out about their challenges in the work from home process,” Denisa Panaite Casu, PwC’s Academy Leader said during the CEO Leaders Debate at the Business Services Forum & Awards 2020, organized by Outsourcing Today and The Diplomat-Bucharest.

“If we are talking strictly in terms of population that were the most affected, from the feedback that we have had inside the firm, it was this one and the very young people who are at the beginning of their career and who need more guidance and especially the ones who are living alone,” she added.

“The coaching part as the mindset among leaders is more important than ever. Empathy is increasingly important, not to judge what the root causes for performing under certain expectations at times but actually supporting people. We have to redesign the way we do the training in a way of keeping people engaged. We are mainly focused on the leadership part to have an impact on the whole organization in terms of resilience, mindfulness, right energy balance. If you entrust capable people and you allow them to express themselves and to work in a certain amount of flexibility, you are going to have an increase in loyalty, an increase in productivity. We started having much more effective meetings. The level of collaboration that we had was amazing, and this was not just the case for our academies, but also in terms of partnerships at regional level.”
