Envisia and the Romanian-American university launch the 12th cohort of the postgraduate program “Corporate Governance that Creates Value”
Envisia and the Romanian-American University launch the 12th cohort of the postgraduate program “Corporate Governance that Creates Value – Corporate Governance in Practice,” the only accredited academic program in Central and Eastern Europe dedicated to the professionalization of board members and leaders involved in corporate governance processes.

“The program addresses the strategic architects of modern organizations: from board members and executive leaders to entrepreneurs, elite consultants, and professionals included in succession plans. At the same time, it provides a rigorous specialization framework for directors of critical functions who support board decisions through strategic reporting and impact analyses,” said Dr. Gabriela Hârțescu, Dean and Member of the Board of Directors of Envisia.
Launched in 2021 in partnership with the Bucharest Stock Exchange and accredited by the Ministry of Education in 2025 through the partnership with the Romanian-American University, the program has so far built a community of more than 150 graduates, board members, executives, and professionals from the governance ecosystem, part of a broader network of over 500 leaders trained through Envisia’s educational programs.
The new cohort begins on March 26, 2026, and applications are open until March 20. The program offers a postgraduate certificate and 6 ECTS credits.
To date, the program has also attracted leaders from public companies such as AACR, Antibiotice, BTT, BBT Costinești, Electrica, Oil Terminal, OMV, Transgaz, Returo.ro, Romgaz, and Transelectrica, among others. Around 22% of participants come from state-owned organizations, and 72% of them joined starting with Cohort 6 (2024), a sign of the accelerated maturation of governance culture within these organizations.
“In the context of an economy in constant transformation, the continuous development of strategic leaders is no longer an option but an imperative for resilience. The program Corporate Governance that Creates Value – Corporate Governance in Practice is the only postgraduate experience that redefines decision-making architecture to generate long-term performance. It offers leaders the vital opportunity to remain connected in real time to relevant global and local developments, as well as the skills needed to make informed strategic decisions that not only enhance organizational performance but also actively contribute to strengthening the ecosystem that supports Romania’s sustainable long-term development,” added Dr. Gabriela Hârțescu, Dean and Member of the Board of Directors of Envisia.
The program runs for approximately 3.5 months and includes 125 hours of training, of which 55 hours are classroom-based, delivered over 7 intensive program days.
The curriculum covers essential topics for board activity, including:
- roles and responsibilities of governance structures
- the relationship between the board and executive management
- reporting responsibilities and investor relations
- risk management and strategic financial decision-making
- sustainability and ESG
- digital transformation and long-term strategy
- board dynamics and performance evaluation
Participants work on real case studies, board meeting simulations, and applied exercises, within a framework that facilitates the exchange of experience among professionals from different sectors.
The program is delivered by a team of lecturers and guest speakers with relevant experience in corporate governance, capital markets, strategy, and executive leadership, including Radu Hanga, Narcisa Oprea, Mihai Purcărea, Adrian Codirlașu, Mirela Păunescu, Flavia Popa, Vlad Deliu, Dragoș Neacșu, Diana Stafie, and Aurelia Costache, alongside other recognized professionals in their fields of expertise.
This combination of academic rigor and practical boardroom experience provides participants with a realistic perspective on how decision-making processes function at the level of boards of directors.
The program selects a maximum of 20 participants per cohort, based on professional experience, motivation, and potential contribution in the boardroom.
