Envisia launches the 13th edition of the postgraduate program “Corporate Governance that Creates Value – Corporate Governance in Practice”
At a time when an increasing number of Romanian companies are accessing the capital market or preparing for listing on the Bucharest Stock Exchange, while local entrepreneurs are accelerating succession planning and management professionalization processes, ENVISIA is launching the 13th edition of its postgraduate program, “Corporate Governance that Creates Value – Corporate Governance in Practice.”

Delivered in partnership with the Romanian-American University, the program is the only accredited academic program in Central and Eastern Europe dedicated to the professionalization of board members and leaders involved in corporate governance processes. It also benefits from the professional recognition of the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB), within the strategic partnership between ENVISIA and BVB.
Interest in strengthening corporate governance structures is growing, particularly among privately owned companies and family businesses seeking regional expansion, capital raising, stock exchange listing, or transition to the next generation of leadership. In recent years, the local market has experienced accelerated growth in private listings, and the outlook for 2026 and beyond points to the continued maturation of Romania’s entrepreneurial and investment ecosystem.
The ENVISIA program responds to this evolution through a practical and strategic approach designed for leaders who understand that sustainable performance depends on professional boards of directors capable of managing decision-making complexity in a constantly changing economic environment.

“As access to capital and long-term continuity become strategic priorities, we are witnessing a paradigm shift in Romania’s private sector. Corporate governance is now recognized as a fundamental pillar of business excellence, especially during pivotal moments such as attracting investors or transitioning to a new generation of leadership. In this complex landscape, our program is not merely an educational option but a standard of excellence. Developed to generate real value, it remains a unique initiative distinguished by its academic excellence and strategic partnership with the stock exchange, specifically designed to transform the advisory and strategic role of boards into tangible and sustainable competitive advantages,” said Dr. Gabriela Hârțescu, Dean and Co-Founder, Envisia – Boards of Elite.

“The Bucharest Stock Exchange has already marked 30 years of activity, and we increasingly see how the maturation of the capital market contributes to the transformation of Romanian companies and the professionalization of the entrepreneurial environment. A stock market listing requires transparency, accountability, and a long-term vision, while corporate governance is one of the essential components of this process. We are pleased to support, alongside ENVISIA and the Romanian-American University, a program that contributes to developing a new generation of leaders and board members prepared to support the sustainable growth of Romanian companies,” said Radu Hanga, Chairman of the Bucharest Stock Exchange.

“The Romanian-American University supports the development of educational programs directly connected to the realities of the business environment and the current needs of organizations. In a context where companies are undergoing accelerated transformation, internationalization, and professionalization processes, corporate governance competencies become essential for leaders assuming strategic roles within organizations. Our partnership with ENVISIA and the Bucharest Stock Exchange reflects our commitment to contributing to the development of a new generation of professionals capable of supporting sustainable growth and the competitiveness of the Romanian business environment,” said Prof. Dr. Costel Negricea, Rector of the Romanian-American University.
Launched in 2021 in partnership with the Bucharest Stock Exchange and accredited by Romania’s Ministry of Education in 2025 through its partnership with the Romanian-American University, the program has so far built a community of more than 150 certified graduates, board members, executives, and governance professionals, part of a broader network of over 500 leaders trained through ENVISIA’s educational programs.
The new cohort begins classes on June 11, 2026, with applications open until June 8.
The program awards a postgraduate certificate and 6 ECTS credits.
The program is specifically designed for professionals who currently hold or aspire to board positions, as well as for those directly involved in governance and strategic decision-making processes within organizations. Participants include C-level executives, entrepreneurs, company secretaries, legal, finance, audit, investor relations, and consulting professionals, as well as specialists included in succession plans for leadership positions.
The program lasts approximately 3.5 months and includes 125 hours of training, of which 55 hours are delivered in a classroom format over 7 intensive program days.
The curriculum covers key topics relevant to board effectiveness, including:
- Roles and responsibilities of governance structures;
- The relationship between the board and executive management;
- Reporting responsibilities and investor relations;
- Risk management and strategic financial decision-making;
- Sustainability governance;
- Digital transformation and long-term strategy;
- Board dynamics and performance evaluation.
Participants engage in practical work through real-life case studies, board meeting simulations, and applied exercises in an environment that facilitates the exchange of experience among professionals from diverse sectors.
This combination of academic rigor and practical boardroom experience provides participants with a realistic understanding of how decision-making processes function at board level.
The program selects a maximum of 20 participants per cohort, based on professional experience, motivation, and potential contribution to board service.
