Genesis Property: Nearly 47% of employees would prefer a four-day workweek. More than half want to work from the office at least 3–4 days a week, attracted by recreational andsocial activities that help boost their productivity

The balance between personal and professional life has become a priority for employees, and nearly 63% say they manage it better in 2025 compared to previous years. However, many feel there’s still room for improvement: almost half would prefer a four-day workweek, according to a Genesis Property survey conducted in April–May 2025 on a nationally representative sample of 1,012 respondents.
At the same time, more than half of respondents (52%) said they want to work from the office at least 3–4 days a week, with 69% highlighting that recreational and social activities in the workplace have a positive impact on their performance.

”In a world where the boundaries between personal and professional life are increasingly blurred, people are looking for more than just a job. They’re seeking balance, a rhythm that allows them to achieve results without losing themselves in the process. More and more employees are openly expressing the need for time, space, and meaning, not just for professional projects, but also for family, health, and personal passions. Today, we’re no longer talking about work-life balance as a perk, but as a harmonious fusion between work and personal life. In organizations where the culture supports this harmony, people don’t just stay – they grow, engage, and contribute. Balance doesn’t mean doing it all; it means being whole in everything you do”, said Elena Panait, Head of Leasing & ComYunitY.
Creating a flexible schedule (41.4%), engaging in team social activities (40.8%), and taking active breaks (37.5%) are the main ways employees maintain this balance while at work. When it comes to activities done together with their teams, the most common are outdoor walks during the day, mentioned by 42% of respondents, followed by participation in teambuilding events or other team-based activities, cited by 38.3%.
When it comes to office amenities that support a better work-life balance, most employees (38.2%) say they would like employer-provided benefits such as massage services, fresh fruit, events, or training sessions. Other highly desired features include relaxation areas (32%) and ergonomic offices with personalized workspaces (27.8%).
Genesis Property aims, in the long term, to complete the final phase of YUNITY Park, a visionary campus conceived by Liviu Tudor, designed to radically transform the way we work. The first two phases, completed in 2023, attracted investments of over €30 million. The next phase, called the Innovation Center, is set to be inaugurated within the next 12 months, following an additional €20 million investment.
The survey was conducted by Genesis Property to explore employees’ expectations for achieving a better work-life balance. It was carried out nationwide in April – May 2025 through the iVox platform, based on a total sample of 1,012 internet users in Romania. Over 45% of participants were women, and nearly 46% reported a net monthly income of more than 5,000 lei.
