Consistent growth for Datanet Systems in 2023 with turnover exceeded 41.7 million euros
Datanet Systems, one of the main integrators of complex IT systems in Romania, increased its turnover by 12% in 2023, up to 41.7 million euros. The increase was above the objectives set as a sales target and is part of the positive evolution of the Soitron group, of which the company is a part, in all markets in the region. At the technology level, 60% of revenues were generated by dedicated data network solutions, and the sectors with the largest share of turnover were telecommunications, financial services and the public sector.
The year 2023 marked a series of reference projects in the activity of Datanet Systems: the largest SD-WAN project in Romania for Mega Image, communication infrastructures based on Cisco technologies for Vodafone and Orange, as well as the winning of important public tenders in ongoing projects with MAPN (Cisco Systems Network Infrastructure) and STS (Communications Equipment for the Future Government Cloud Platform). The area of cyber security has also registered a significant increase, in the context of the increase of cyber threats, but also of the approach of the deadline for the adoption of the NIS 2 Directive. In 2023, Datanet carried out, with the support of the Soitron group, the first position assessment project and security strategy, at a company from Romania. The partnership relationship with Cisco Systems was strengthened by obtaining the Cisco Partner Lifecycle Services – Support certification for the first time nationally, as well as the certification of an impressive number of specialists.
Moreover, staff training is a priority for Datanet Systems, whose team of 76 employees holds over 260 professional technical certifications, of which 183 are for Cisco Systems. In 2023, the company also laid the foundations of a Business Development department to manage opportunities to approach new market sectors or technological areas, to support long-term evolution.
“The year 2023 was a year in which we worked intensively, with many requests from customers who run critical infrastructures and very strict requirements both technical and business. One of our major challenges was also the alignment with new technologies generation, which include elements of machine learning, artificial intelligence, virtual assistants and voice recognition. These technologies are increasingly embraced in the local market and force us to pay high attention to the professional training of people to be up to date with everything that appears in the IT industry. The focus on technological innovation and the continuous training of the team allowed us to achieve all the objectives set at the beginning of the year and strengthen our position on the system integrators market,” says Dragoș Stroescu, Executive Director of Datanet Systems.
Business priorities for 2024 include expanding the portfolio of cyber security solutions and services, through closer collaboration with Soitron and taking over existing best practices at the group level. At the same time, Datanet Systems aims to strengthen partnerships with manufacturers such as Juniper, F5, Palo Alto and Fortinet, as well as commercial exploitation of the acquisition and integration of Splunk by Cisco Systems. Another long-term priority is to increase the share of sales of professional services within the turnover.
