CGS Romania: 90 per cent of employees who follow internal mentoring programs advance in their careers
Computer Generated Solutions (CGS) Romania, a center of excellence and the leader of the local business process outsourcing (BPO) market, reinforces its commitment to the development of its staff through mentoring and career development programs. Moreover, the initiative started locally since 2015 has already been extended to other subsidiaries of the company, in Israel, Chile, India and the United States of America.
“The mentorship program, launched in 2015 as a pilot program, is not just a formal initiative, but an authentic mutual learning experience. Mentors, colleagues with experience and success stories within CGS Romania, become inspirational guides for their mentees, offering them an open framework to explore, understand and grow in their career”, said Vladimir Sterescu, Country Manager of CGS Romania.
According to his statements, year after year, the mentoring program attracts a significant number of employees following an internal application and selection process, with 90% of them completing the courses and having the opportunity to advance in their career.
Moreover, mentoring programs can be carried out even by employees who work 100% remotely. Mentors, mainly experienced managers in the company, invest time and expertise to guide and inspire younger employees – mentees.
These are people with potential, whether they are at the beginning of their professional career or looking for a decisive boost. The program goes beyond a simple mentoring process. It’s a community where ideas are shared, horizons are opened, and a network of trust is built, where mentees can call on their mentors’ knowledge, resources, and advice anytime, even outside of this program. All this leads not only to better professionally trained employees, but also to a solid organizational culture and team cohesion. In addition to the mentors’ expertise, the program gives employees enrolled in the program access to valuable resources—from customized internal curricula to articles and studies recommended by their mentors, creating a holistic learning platform.
Through this program, professional connections are created, an organic network of collective knowledge and experience, which forms the basis of a valuable management team. The program not only facilitates unitary managerial conduct, but also promotes conflict management skills and fosters a company culture of information sharing. This strategic approach ensures not only the internal cohesion of the team, but also the ability to respond quickly to changes in the market, while maintaining a solid vision of organizational goals.
Thus, the program is not just a temporary mentoring stage, but becomes the foundation of sustainable development and effective management within the company.
Moreover, international studies also show the importance of mentoring programs, especially in companies with over 100 employees. Thus, according to statistics*, approx. 23% of employees who enter such programs will have the chance to progress faster in their careers. Also, 9 out of 10 employees who have a mentor say they are happier at work. Moreover, programs of this type reduce anxiety and increase the confidence of both mentor and mentee.
