SAP unveils new tools to help businesses thrive in the age of artificial intelligence
SAP shows the latest technological innovations to support its customers who want to use their data to its fullest capacity, to gain access to more relevant insights, to grow faster, but also to achieve greater efficiency in the era artificial intelligence.
The new possibilities offered by the SAP Datasphere solution include generative AI functions and transform the planning of companies through simplified data landscapes and a more intuitive interaction with data.
“Transforming data into correct decisions is necessary at the level of enterprise technologies and becomes critical as artificial intelligence – which is based on quality data – revolutionizes all aspects of business”, said Juergen Mueller, SAP Chief Technology Officer and member of the Board- of the Executive.
“The new SAP Datasphere innovations, along with the new partnership with Collibra, represent an incredible leap forward in our ability to help customers intelligently transform their businesses with data.”
At the core of SAP announcement is the data fabric business architecture, which ensures that data is not just a simple tool, but the core of all strategic initiatives. The announced innovations and partnership help organizations deliver quality data wherever it’s needed—while keeping the business context and logic intact.
“To give purpose to data, an organization must extract meaningful information from it, and this can only be achieved by keeping the business context intact. By extracting and moving data, most of its meaning is lost because it is no longer related to business processes. This is the goal of the data fabric architectural approach, which aims to do things differently – to simplify access to critical business data spread across numerous applications, clouds and on-premise data warehouses, while preserving the context and meaning intact. Thus, organizations can immediately act on meaningful and centrally governed data and deliver it to every business user, so that these valuable assets support informed decision-making,” said Alex-Luis Militaru, Head of SAP Business Technology Platform , Central and Eastern Europe.
Among the innovations presented by SAP are:
1. Copilot Generative-AI and AI Governance
Joule, the generative AI copilot, is now introduced within the SAP Analytics Cloud solution to automate the creation and development of dashboards, reports, plans and more. Automation is possible thanks to the vector capabilities of SAP HANA Cloud. They combine the power of large linguistic models (LLM) with the relevant data of organizations – thus providing the guarantee of preserving the business context for the results provided by generative artificial intelligence. Embedding generative AI in a business is not possible without secure and governed data. To provide organizations with a solution for overseeing AI policies, processes and practices, SAP announces an expansion of its partnership with Collibra to integrate the Collibra AI Governance platform with SAP data resources. This will support the transparency and accountability of organizations and help ensure compliance with regulatory, compliance and privacy policies.
2. Discover hidden insights and patterns with the Knowledge Graph
With the new knowledge graph within SAP Datasphere, organizations can identify hidden insights and patterns within the applications and systems they use. Thus, both technical and business users can understand the connections between data, metadata and business processes, but can also increase the efficiency of machine learning and large linguistic models. 3. Unified and advanced planning and analysis
The new integration of SAP Datasphere with SAP Analytics Cloud provides a unique data management system and advanced analytics to support organizational planning. Planners can use a single flexible model and need a single tool for data preparation, modeling, and planning. In addition, business users can also use the new compass functionality of SAP Analytics Cloud to get better estimates in planning and analysis, thanks to data-driven simulations. Thus, organizations can run complex simulations through a chat-like interface to evaluate predictive scenarios, with the ability to constantly adjust controllable variables in search of the optimal plan. These innovations support customers who want to transform their planning by unifying financial, operational, supply chain and HR plans with a native connection to SAP applications and third-party data.
“We decided to use SAP Datasphere for a modern data fabric business architecture in combination with our SAP S/4HANA landscape. Thus we have the opportunity to effectively create a modern data analytics platform that enables a capability of self-service based on trusted data and data models,” said Achim Welter, Senior Director ERP, Digital & IT Strategy, Hershey’s.
SAP Datasphere innovations help customers gain a unified, big picture that simplifies the data landscape while preserving context and logic – enabling companies to adapt more quickly to market changes and make decisions more effectively . From vector and copilot capabilities that ensure business context is preserved, to a new knowledge graph that helps discover insights and patterns in particularly complex data, SAP innovations ensure that organizations have the full capability to their data.
