International Workplace Group opens a new Regus centre in Timișoara as demand for hybrid and platform working continues to accelerate

International Workplace Group (IWG), the global leader in hybrid work solutions with brands such as Spaces and Regus, continues to expand its network in Romania with the opening of a new Regus centre in VOX Technology Park, Timișoara. The new centre is part of IWG’s global strategy to respond to the growing demand for flexible workspaces and to support the accelerated adoption of the hybrid working model.
Located at Calea Torontalului 69, on the 7th floor of one of the most modern office buildings in the city, the new Regus space spans 906 sqm and offers flexible offices, coworking areas, fully equipped meeting rooms, and creative spaces. Scheduled to open on May 1st, the centre will host companies and start-ups from various industries. The centre was developed in partnership with Romanian investment company TigHolding SRL, which invested in the IWG platform to bring a modern Regus-branded workspace to the building.
“The opening of this new flexible workspace in Timișoara marks an important step in expanding our network in Romania. We are seeing a growing interest in flexible offices as companies adopt hybrid work models. Regus offers an ideal setting for efficiency, collaboration, and professional development, right in the heart of a city with huge potential,” said Victor Tighinean, CEO of TigHolding.
Regus VOX Technology Park joins a global network of thousands of locations in over 120 countries, accessible through the IWG app. This opening comes at a time when more and more businesses are adopting hybrid working. Globally, there are approximately 1.2 billion white-collar workers, and the total addressable market for hybrid working exceeds $2 trillion. In 2024, IWG signed partnership agreements for 899 new locations and serves 83% of Fortune 500 companies.
“We are strengthening our presence in Timișoara – a city with remarkable entrepreneurial and technological potential – by bringing a top-tier Regus centre to VOX Technology Park. We are pleased to collaborate with TigHolding to develop the Regus brand under a franchise agreement that brings a modern workspace into the building,” said Mark Dixon, CEO and Founder of IWG.
A new way of working – closer, smarter, more sustainable
Research from IWG shows that only 1 in 5 employees is willing to commute more than 30 minutes daily, and 80% report that the flexibility of hybrid work has significantly improved their wellbeing. At the same time, 81% of companies intend to maintain this model long term. In this context, flexible offices are becoming a key solution for businesses that want to remain agile, optimize costs, and attract a diverse and modern workforce.
As the hybrid work model gains traction, forecasts indicate that by 2030, approximately 30% of all office spaces will be flexible workspace. According to Global Workplace Analytics, companies can save an average of $11,000 per year for each employee working in a hybrid model – a clear competitive advantage in a dynamic business environment. With IWG’s support, partners can access a fast-growing sector, benefiting from operational expertise, technology investments, and an extensive global network.
