Zitec’s eCommerce division doubled its revenue in the first half of 2022
Zitec’s eCommerce division recorded in the first half of 2022 an increase of more than 100% in turnover compared to the same period of the previous year.
With an experience of over 19 years in the development of business solutions, Zitec offers eCommerce services for important customers in Romania, as well as in other European countries. The company’s portfolio includes well-known brands in Romania such as Flanco, Brico Dépôt, iELM or NOD. The start of a partnership with Agrii Romania – supplier of high-performance technologies and agronomic services, as well as the investment in strengthening strategic partnerships with Adobe (Magento) and the enterprise digital commerce platform VTEX, are some of the important business moves of the eCommerce division in the first half of this year.

According to Zitec representatives, recently there has been a growing interest from companies in migrating to flexible and competitive eCommerce platforms. More than 80% of customers opted for integrated eCommerce solutions, capable of supporting a large number of competing products and visitors on the site and allowing rapid changes according to business needs. The development of innovative payment and delivery services, customized software modules and various integrations that facilitate the adoption of an omnichannel strategy were also among the most frequent requests from online stores.
More and more retailers are adapting to new trends in eCommerce to maximize the digital experience offered to customers. Conversational commerce continues to grow with increased use of live chat apps and chatbots for online shopping. According to Spectrm, a conversational marketing platform, 67% of Europeans use these channels to communicate more quickly with brands about their products and services and to inform themselves before the final purchase. On the same upward trend, live shopping is becoming an integral part of the strategies of more and more companies, considering the 86% increase in European consumers who bought items following such sessions, a Statista study shows.
Diversification of payment services by implementing innovative methods such as Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) – where applications of this kind have registered only in Europe approx. 10 million downloads in the first half of the year according to a study by the analysis platform SensorTower – but also marketplace or dropshipping platforms are among the innovative solutions adopted by companies to remain competitive.
According to the company’s representatives, this year also continued the efforts of sustained growth of the team by attracting talented people and on the continuous development of technical skills both within the eCommerce team and outside it. Thus, between April and July, the company carried out an internship program that offered participants the opportunity to learn PHP, Magento 2 and the opportunity to implement a project on the Magento platform. In the coming period, the company continues the recruitment process with available positions such as PHP Magento Developer, Senior PHP Magento Engineer, or VTEX Developer.
