Romanian startup Frisbo expands its operations in five new countries
Romanian startup Frisbo, the smart e-fulfillment platform with the largest presence in Europe, which takes over the storage, packaging and delivery of online orders, announces that it is expanding its operations in five new countries: Moldova and Bulgaria – where they recently started , and Spain, Italy and Belgium, which are in the process of integrating deposits.
For 2021, the company plans to expand its logistics network in Germany (a country currently served by Poland), France and the Netherlands. Currently, the Frisbo network has 15 logistics centers from Romania, the Republic of Moldova, Hungary, Slovakia, Bulgaria and Poland, which serve 9 countries in the next day delivery system: Romania, Bulgaria, Hungary, the Republic of Moldova, Poland, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Austria and Germany.
At the beginning of 2021, the list of countries with next day delivery will reach 13, adding Belgium, Italy, Spain and Portugal. This year, Frisbo recorded an average annual growth of over 95% in the markets of Romania, Hungary, Slovakia and Poland, the countries where the startup operated in 2019. In 2020, foreign operations accounted for a share of 15% of the total business.
“This year we focused on strengthening our position in the local market and expanding Frisbo operations in Central and Eastern Europe, a process that will continue in 2021. In the context of the pandemic and the fact that most consumers are turning to online shopping, our services have become more and more sought after and are no longer an exotic solution. We will continue the expansion of Frisbo to the western markets, noticing an increasing appetite of the online stores in the portfolio for them “, said Bogdan Colceriu, founder of Frisbo.
Customers in the Frisbo portfolio include companies such as Bitdefender, Aosom, Nala, Sanovita, foodpanda, Meli Melo or Intercars. The benefit of using an e-fulfillment service is scaling online store sales in the local market as well as in new countries, without the need for logistical experience, without the high cost and stress of managing stocks and orders volume.
Frisbo is the first e-fulfillment platform on the local market, founded in 2014 by entrepreneur Bogdan Colceriu. In November last year, the startup received an investment of 1.2 million euros, in a round led by GapMinder Venture Partners, with the participation of ROCA X, in a business valuation of approximately 6 million euros. At that time, Frisbo managed to quadruple its value within 2 years of the first round of investments raised in 2017 by Cluj businessman Mircea Ilea, followed by investments by the Neogen group and the Risky Business fund in 2018.
