5G Online Challenge 2020 of Orange Romania is open for registrations
Orange Romania has opened registration for its 5G Online Challenge, a competition for businesses and product developers working with 5G and IoT. The finalists of the contest will enter the Orange Fab acceleration programme, where they will receive access to dedicated communication equipment, platforms and infrastructure, as well as the 5G Orange labs in Bucharest, to test their products and systems.
The 5G Online Challenge will take place between 27 August and 24 November. Start-ups, spin-offs, students and developers are all encouraged to apply. Orange Romania said it is looking for products in areas such as cyber security, mobility, retails, smart city, media, entertainment, health and digital education.
The competition will take place on orangefab.ro/5G-challenge, in 3 stages (pre-selection, selection and final), and startups, spin-offs, students can enter the contest from technical universities or developers who have a product or product concept based on 5G and IoT technologies. To enter the selection stage, participants will complete, by November 1, the application form on orangefab.ro/5G-challenge.

Through 5G Online Challenge we meet the innovators in 5G and IoT technologies, with whom we want to build a long-term collaboration, including by participating together with Orange Romania in the Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe research projects. ” said Cristian Paţachia, Development & Innovation Manager Orange Romania.
During the 5G Online Challenge selection stage, starting with November 2, participants will get in touch with the mentors of the contest, professionals from the Orange Romania technical and innovation teams: Marius Iordache – 5G Technical Manager, Cristian Pațachia – Development & Innovation Manager and Monica Obogeanu – Startups Program Manager.
5G Online Challenge will end with a pitching session, on November 24, in which the finalists will present the proposed solutions to the jury of Orange Romania’s top management. The best teams will move forward in Orange Fab, a one-year acceleration program designed to support entrepreneurs in developing innovative products and distributing them locally and internationally.
