The company announced has accelerated, in the last 3 months, the digitization of the portfolio of solutions it offers, launching a series of innovative projects, through which it offers the beneficiaries a much improved user experience and adapted to the new context. The restrictions imposed by the authorities in the Covid-19 pandemic created the premises for a rapid development towards the digitization of 100% of the Edenred solution portfolio and its expansion in new directions such as:
- Collaborate with Booking.com and allow you to book your holiday with Edenred Holiday cards directly in the booking platform, with payment on location
- Edenred activates the Apple Pay service for all main products in Romania
- Test your own payment solution, accessible to Android users as well
- Edenred Romania and Tazz by eMAG soon launch the first online payment solution with meal cards for food orders
- Partner with NETOPIA Payments and facilitate access for Edenred card users to online restaurants and travel agencies
To support the return of the hotel industry in Romania, perhaps among the most affected business segments during the pandemic, along with the measures already taken for restaurants (HORECA), Edenred has partnered with Booking.com, facilitating the reservation of holidays directly on the platform and payment with Edenred Holiday cards at accommodation units in the Edenred partner network.
The company has also activated the Apple Pay service for Edenred Holiday and Edenred Gift users, giving beneficiaries the opportunity to make payments easier, faster and more securely with their iOS devices. Edenred Ticket Restaurant meal card users have been able to make payments with Apple devices since last year, so now all Edenred main solutions benefit from the Apple Pay service.
Edenred Romania is also in the final phase of testing its own payment solution, which will soon be accessible to Android users.

Thus, with an ecosystem of benefits for employees almost exclusively digital and with the support of Edenred Digital Center, a team of 80 IT specialists who offer solutions in line with technological developments, Edenred Romania has created the premises for the development of the next stage, such as partnerships with platforms of online orders and payments, food deliveries and holiday reservations.
Supporting the approach to offer the simplest solutions to users, Edenred Romania is the first issuer to offer the possibility of online payment with a meal card in a food delivery platform. The project is in the implementation phase, and soon, the beneficiaries of the Edenred Ticket Restaurant solution will be able to use the cards in the Tazz by eMAG platform, to pay online for lunch ordered at the office or at home, from hundreds of restaurants that currently deliver in 21 cities across the country.
The partnership between Edenred and Tazz by eMAG is the first of its kind in Romania and is a tech innovation that allows full integration of the issuer – platform – restaurants.
Following the same strategy, through which it aims to offer its beneficiaries access to as many merchants present online, Edenred has entered into a partnership with NETOPIA Payments, the largest electronic payment processor in Romania. Thus, Edenred Ticket Restaurant and Edenred Vacance users are facilitated access to all Edenred partner restaurants and travel agencies with an online presence, at a time when the HORECA segment has made the transition to e-commerce, like many other industries.
