SCC Services Romania marks 20 years on the local market
SCC Services Romania this week marks 20 years since it was founded in Iași in 2006, having grown from a team of 26 people in a residential building in Copou into one of the largest IT services centres in the country, with nearly 1,300 employees in 3 cities and remote locations around the country.

SCC is the flagship technology business or Rigby Group, and Europe’s largest independent IT solutions provider. The Romanian operation has developed organically into a strategic, multi-capability delivery centre serving European and global. Its growth has been marked by a series of milestones: the expansion into IT infrastructure services in 2009, the opening of a second centre in Bacău in 2013, and passing 1,000 employees at the company’s ten-year anniversary in 2016. More recently, the centre has shifted focus towards niche capabilities, high end skills and delivering high value secure services to it’s European customers.
The more significant shift over two decades has been in the nature of the work itself. What began as an IT service desk for the Italian fashion industry has become an operation that customers trust to source, design, integrate and manage complex technology solutions end to end. That positioning, delivering enterprise-grade services cost-effectively and from within the EU and NATO space, has become central to how the centre competes as jurisdiction and resilience move up the agenda for European buyers.

The foundation remains the Service Centre and Digital Technical Operations functions, where operational maturity is highest, covering 24/7 IT incident management, server and database administration, patching, and cloud and network operations. Building on that base, the centre has invested in Professional Services and Project Delivery, spanning programme and project management, transition management, solution architecture and Digital Workplace consulting, and in Data and Business Intelligence, including data engineering and BI development, now extended through a dedicated AI Centre of Excellence.
Industry recognition
In 2026 the centre was named MSP Service Desk of the Year (Large Enterprise) by the Service Desk Institute and Shared Services Center of the Year at the PIN Awards. The two distinctions recognise consistency in service delivery, innovation, talent development and customer focus.
People
The scale has been built on internal talent. Around 90% of the leadership team has been promoted from within, women hold 40% of leadership roles, and more than 15% of employees have been with the company for over ten years. Onboarding and mentoring programmes support graduates and early-career colleagues, alongside continued investment in leadership development and professional certification.

“We have been here for twenty years and have delivered consistently, through every market cycle. Over time we have shown that we are a partner customers can rely on, and our commitment is to keep developing and adapting to the markets we serve, cost-effectively and from within the EU and NATO space. This is the commitment behind the anniversary, and above all a promise for the next twenty years, not just a celebration of the past,” said Mihai Bondar, Director, SCC Services Romania.
