TotalSoft participated in the technological integration in the merger process between UniCredit Bank and Alpha Bank Romania
TotalSoft, one of the leading providers of business software solutions in Central and Eastern Europe, participated in the merger process between UniCredit Bank Romania and Alpha Bank Romania, one of the most complex projects in the local banking sector in recent years.
Through its technological expertise, TotalSoft successfully completed the integration of the Charisma ERP and Charisma HCM solutions used within the two entities and ensured the continuity of operations in the HR and finance departments, the complete integration of databases and the alignment of internal processes in accordance with regulatory requirements and international financial reporting standards. The technological integration process, which lasted approximately 6 months, involved the harmonization of the existing IT systems in the two banks, so that all of the approximately 4,800 employees of the new UniCredit financial group would not experience any blockages in their daily activities, and customers would benefit from uninterrupted financial services.
The integration project was carried out in close collaboration with the UniCredit Bank and Alpha Bank Romania teams, bringing together dozens of specialists in the fields of technology, human resources, finance and accounting and compliance. Together, they coordinated a complex process of unifying databases, synchronizing internal applications and aligning reporting flows.
The joint effort aimed not only at technological integration, but also at optimizing work processes and consolidating a unified financial reporting framework, according to international standards. At the same time, the teams carried out critical data migrations and detailed analyses of operational flows, in order to identify synergies and support an efficient transition between the two banks’ systems.
The process was completed by the use of complementary business applications, dedicated to the management of contracts, procurement, internal expenses, compliance (GDPR) – all natively integrated with the Charisma ERP platform, as well as the implementation of electronic invoicing (eFactura) and new financial reporting.

Post-merger, UniCredit Bank has a network of approximately 300 branches and 900 ATMs throughout the country. Over 4,800 employees work in the bank after the merger.
