ANIS Scholarships 2025: We extend the deadline for registration until September 30, 2025
Record number of scholarships from the IT industry: university teachers can access 25 grants of 5,000 euros each.
ANIS, the Employers’ Association of the Software and Services Industry, announces the extension of the deadline for submitting projects to the eighth edition of the ANIS Scholarships program until September 30, 2025, inclusive. Assistant professors, lecturers and doctoral students from any faculty in the country can apply to one of the 8 categories proposed within the program. After evaluation, the winners will be rewarded for innovation in the teaching process with a grant worth 5,000 euros each.
The winners will be announced at the “ANIS Scholarships 2025” Gala to be held on November 12 in Iași.
“Tomorrow’s life, not the life after tomorrow, is inextricably linked to technology. There are not enough ways to emphasize how important and critical it is to focus on the subjects and teaching methods to have adults and a functioning society. We are already behind in many chapters regarding digital skills (half the EU average) and the adoption of technologies. ANIS scholarships recognize and encourage bold teachers but at the same time keep the public attention on the importance of digital education in all its forms. If we were to go to the extreme, we could say that this is a subject of national security in the future, for which our members mobilized in a record way this year, with the largest number of scholarships available”, said Corina Vasile, Executive Director of ANIS.
The program is aimed at university teachers from all over the country, who are up to 40 years old (turned in 2025), have introduced a new course/laboratory in the curriculum or have updated an existing one, using innovative teaching methods based on new technologies. All eligibility criteria can be consulted online.
Applications can be made by sending the complete file to burse@anis.ro. The program regulations are available HERE, and the application form is available HERE. University lecturers, assistants and doctoral students up to 40 years old can apply, who in the 2025–2026 academic year teach subjects that include technologies such as Big Data, AI/Machine Learning, IoT, Cloud, Cybersecurity, Quantum Computing, Healthtech or projects in the Tech for All category, designed to bring technology to non-IT faculties.
Projects can be completely new or significantly updated (minimum 50% in the last year, or 60% in the last two years). After the evaluation of the applications and interviews with the selection committee, the winners will be announced on November 12, during the “ANIS Scholarships” Gala.
Scholarships will be awarded to the projects that best meet the evaluation criteria, with the jury aiming to reward excellence and innovation. We aim to support initiatives of the highest quality, and the final number of scholarships awarded will reflect the exceptional potential of the selected projects.
Evaluation process
All projects will go through a preliminary evaluation process, based on the written application and a video clip in which applicants will present the innovative elements of the course or laboratory. The four evaluation criteria are: the innovative nature of the course/laboratory and its sustainability, the detailed structure covering the objectives and subject matter of the course/laboratory, the method, which refers to the candidate’s profile and the use of innovative teaching methods, and the continuity of the program beyond the current academic year. In October, the finalists will be interviewed by the members of the evaluation committee (the full list of evaluation committee members is attached), and in November, the grants for the selected projects, worth 5,000 euros each, will be awarded at the ANIS Scholarship Gala.
Since its inception, the program has supported 82 teaching projects, providing 410,000 euros to academics from 21 university centers. Many of these have generated research and development partnerships between academia and private companies.
The 2025 edition is made possible with the support of Adobe Romania, Amazon Romania, Bitdefender, Booking Holdings Romania, Cognizant Technology Solutions Romania, DB Global Technology, Endava Romania, Eviden Romania, IBM Romania, Orange Services, Siemens Romania, Societe Generale Global Solution Centre and SoftServe Romania.
