ANIS Scholarships 2025 – The largest edition so far, in support of digital university education
ANIS, the Employers’ Association of the Software and Services Industry, announces registrations for the eighth edition of the ANIS Scholarships program dedicated to young academics who bring emerging technologies and new learning methods to teaching.
This year, with the support of industry companies, 25 grants of 5,000 euros each will be awarded – the largest number of scholarships in the history of the program, which began in 2018.
“Romania ranks 39th in the global innovation ranking and among the last EU countries in terms of digital skills, according to the Digital Decade Report Romania 2025. The percentage of those with basic digital skills is well below the European average, and the adoption of emerging technologies in education remains timid. However, the future depends on those who can transform the classroom into an innovation laboratory. The ANIS 2025 scholarships mark our constant commitment to investing in the future of education and technology in Romania. By supporting young teachers who innovate in teaching, we contribute to the training of a new generation of IT professionals”, says Corina Vasile, ANIS Executive Director.
Applications are open from September 1 to 23* and can be submitted by sending the complete application to burse@anis.ro. The program regulations are available HERE, and the application form is available HERE. University lecturers, assistants and doctoral students up to 40 years old can apply, who in the 2025–2026 academic year teach subjects that include technologies such as Big Data, AI/Machine Learning, IoT, Cloud, Cybersecurity, Quantum Computing, Healthtech or projects in the Tech for All category, designed to bring technology to non-IT faculties.
Projects can be completely new or significantly updated (minimum 50% in the last year, or 60% in the last two years). After evaluating the applications and interviews with the selection committee, the winners will be announced on November 12, during the “ANIS Scholarships” Gala.
Scholarships will be awarded to projects that best meet the evaluation criteria, with the jury aiming to reward excellence and innovation. We aim to support initiatives of the highest quality, and the final number of scholarships awarded will reflect the exceptional potential of the selected projects.
Since its inception, the program has supported 82 teaching projects, offering 410,000 euros to academics from 21 university centers. Many of these have generated research and development partnerships between academia and private companies.
The 2025 edition is possible with the support of Adobe Romania, Amazon Romania, Bitdefender, Booking Holdings Romania, Cognizant Technology Solutions Romania, DB Global Technology, Endava Romania, Eviden Romania, IBM Romania, Orange Services, Siemens Romania, Societe Generale Global Solution Centre and SoftServe Romania.
*The application period may be extended until September 30, depending on the number of applications.
