M247 Group completes sale of UK-Only connectivity and IT services operations to Convergence Group

M247 Group, a leading international provider of hosting, data transport, and cloud solutions, – and the owner of the M247 Global Data Center in Bucharest – announces the successful completion of the sale of its UK-only connectivity and IT services operations, including associated infrastructure and personnel, to Convergence Group.

This transaction supports M247 Group’s strategic focus on serving international, multi-jurisdictional enterprise customers. Financial terms were not disclosed.

This sale applies strictly to services offered exclusively to UK-based clients and does not impact M247’s international operations. M247 continues to operate globally – including in Romania through M247 Global (M247 Europe as the legal entity) – and remains active in the UK to support its international clients, while reinforcing its presence across Europe, North America, and select emerging markets.

Earlier in 2025, M247 Global, which operates both the Bucharest (Pipera) Data Center and the global network, announced the launch of new Points of Presence in Helsinki, Atlanta, and Chicago. Through these initiatives, M247 strengthens its strategic direction to support global enterprises and plans to accelerate investment in high-growth technologies such as Internet of Things (IoT) and AI inference.

Importantly, this transaction does not represent M247’s exit from the UK market. The Group retains its international operations, including infrastructure, platforms, and global clients, who will continue to be served through its Global Hosting and Data Center divisions. All employees involved in UK-only operations have been transferred to Convergence Group as part of the agreement.

The M247 brand will continue to be used by the Group and M247 Global based in Bucharest. Convergence Group will temporarily use the brand under a transitional service agreement (TSA).
