Adela Șova, Head of Bucharest Center, UNIC Global Training, ACCA: The growth of entrepreneurial mindset puts the relation of companies and employees in the form of partnership

Leaders in business services industry gathered for sharing their latest insights on the evolution and shifts in their work and companies at the 11th Edition of THE ROMANIAN BUSINESS SERVICES FORUM & AWARDS.
In the discussion of the CEO Forum panel, Adela Șova, Head of Bucharest Center, UNIC Global Training underlined on the growth of entrepreneurial mindset that puts the relation of companies and employees in the form of partnership among other topics.
ACCA, The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants is a global professional accountancy body providing qualifications and advancing standards in accountancy worldwide. Founded in 1904 to widen access to the accountancy profession, the association championed inclusion and today proudly supports a diverse community of over 252,500 members and 526,000 future members in 180 countries. Starting this year, we defined and detailed on three pillars that define our work: talent, people and skills, innovative technologies and sustainability. From an emotional perspective of work environment and following many talks with clients, the needs and asks of employees reside in a combination of reasoning of commuting to work among other variables.
A new term is worth mentioning: the entrepreneurship. Which means that a company is no longer just an employer, and the people are employees, but there is a more profound partnership between the two entities, with companies partnering with people for delivery the services needed which also includes the aspects defining the motivation of employees regarding the work proposition.
Back in September last year, we established at the level of ACCA a division in charge with policies and insights comprising our latest research and in September last year, we issued the results of our study called The Smart Alliance Accounting Expertise meets Machine Intelligence. (This webinar was first broadcast in November 2024 as part of ACCA’s global flagship virtual conference – Accounting for the Future). In accounting, there are functions that are not going to be replaced by AI but for those which can, we should make very good use of it. From my perspective as lecturer, I use AI to draft lecture plans and structures, balancing the amount of information, tests and exams preparations.
For the third year, we are running a study referring to global talent trends, involving more than a 100.000 people – employers’ representatives, employees, students, ACCA members, and one of the survey conclusion is that 52 per cent of the respondents see the accountancy as a springboard to running their own business ( as referring to the entrepreneurship component mentioned before). Relating to AI and digital, half of the respondents manifested concern that they are not developing the skills required for the future of work, while fewer than a third said that their organization is providing opportunities to learn AI related skills.
