Andreea Păun, Managing Partner, Griffes: The traditional technical parameters of defining a working space switched to an integrated and customized work experience

Leaders in business services industry gathered for sharing their latest insights on the evolution and shifts in their work and companies at the 11th Edition of THE ROMANIAN BUSINESS SERVICES FORUM & AWARDS.
In the discussion of the CEO Forum panel, Andreea Păun, Managing Partner, Griffes who depicted the trends in workspace, office design particularities and expectations and how the approach on designing an office space changed in the past years.
The workspace is a good addition and a platform; we benefit from of privileges today in daily work. We operate of a lot of changes and huge dynamics. There is no wonder recipe to cope with the everyday changes that workspace is facing now, other than embracing the change handling the amount of the variables through agility and focusing on the main work perspectives. An effect on pandemics is the increase in collaborative and shared workspaces. The office design and spaces also saw particular transformations in the past years and borrowed aspects from hospitality, such as the widely used terms such as wellness and wellbeing.
The features and offices and business buildings embraced the features of hospitality in order to address the current needs of the work environment and people. The operationality transformed and switched to comfort, warmth and more welcoming spaces for clients, employees and new onboardings. The previous indicators of workplace such as density, people per sqm or the number of desks fit into a surface, net surface, gross surface. Now, the talk around a working space is about bringing the employee and customer experience at work, amenities, newest and freshest trends, the ground floor mix of facilities.
In terms of new technologies and AI use and impact, in sales and especially in real estate, the aspects are met in part with a certain degree of anxiety and on the other hand with enthusiasm, due to the scale of aggregated and contextual data it can provide. We live in a IoT world and the shift towards automation is tangible. For instance, in buildings, such an example is represented by sensors or counters, which are replacing people’s input and stands for predictive and analytical indicators for a building occupancy – which is a hot topic in real estate, or counting of people or other aspects.
