SoftServe becomes the partner of the European Patent Office on computer security, with a contract of 30 million euros
The three-year framework contract, worth €30 million, will support the implementation of the EPO’s Strategic Plan 2028
SoftServe, one of the largest IT companies in Central and Eastern Europe, announces the conclusion of a framework contract with the European Patent Office (EPO) for the provision of support services for information security systems.
In order to maintain the highest security standards for its strategic plan, the EPO awarded SoftServe a three-year contract worth €30 million, with an option to extend for a further two years.
“In today’s digital age, the stakes for software security, especially in patent development and protection, have never been higher. The collaboration with the European Patent Office underlines our strong commitment to protect the integrity of sensitive business and user data from across Europe,” said Volodymyr Semenyshyn, President of SoftServe, EMEA.
The European Patent Office, an independent intergovernmental organization with 6,300 employees and a budget of €2.6 billion, carries out rigorous examinations of patent applications, covering up to 44 countries through a single simplified process.
The EPO’s Strategic Plan 2028 identifies technologies as one of its main drivers, and IT security plays a key role in this context. The partnership between the EPO and SoftServe marks a crucial milestone in ensuring the protection of sensitive data and intellectual property in Europe. Enhancing the capabilities of the European Patent Office with state-of-the-art technologies will create a resilient infrastructure, drive digital transformation and ensure excellence in the field, respecting the highest IT security standards.
