Hybrid work solutions leader IWG prepares to expand with 1,000 new locations in 2024 amid unprecedented demand
- In Romania, IWG recently inaugurated Regus Bucharest City Gate, a 1,200 sqm workspace
- IWG doubled the number of new spaces it signed up for last year compared to 2022
- According to an IWG study, more than 75% of CEOs still expect to operate in a hybrid model five years from now
- Another IWG study shows that 88% of employees consider hybrid work to be the top benefit they want when choosing to change jobs
During 2023, IWG nearly doubled the number of newly added spaces compared to the previous year, expanding the network with 867 new locations. In Romania, the company inaugurated an ultra-modern flexible workspace in City Gate Bucharest, amid increased demand for hybrid work solutions.
The rapid growth in new locations is being driven by property owners and partners seeking to capitalise on the rapidly growing demand for hybrid working. Many of these property owners have vacant space to fill with the decline in demand for traditional office real estate and are choosing to partner with IWG’s industry-leading hybrid working platform and benefit from a choice of multiple brands including Regus, Spaces, HQ and Signature.
The iconic Regus City Gate, in the 2nd district of Bucharest, is providing the workforce of Romania with another upscale workplace. Located on the third floor of the gate’s South Tower, the modern flexible workspace is a prime new location in the capital – just a 3-minute walk from bus and tram stops, as well as the Herastrau Park area, with a high number of commuters coming from small cities and towns across the country.
The workspace – powered sustainably by renewable energy – offers 30 private offices, two dynamic meeting rooms, and ample co-working spaces, including large parking spaces, fast chargers for electrical cars, and bike and motorcycle storage.
Hybrid work remains at the top of employee wishlist
A recent IWG survey of CEOs shows that more than 75% of them expect to still be operating in a hybrid model five years from now. This is also confirmed by new research from Stanford University and other leading institutions, which indicates that hybrid work is a phenomenon that will continue for years to come. Another IWG survey also found that 88% of employees consider hybrid work to be the top benefit they would expect in a new role.
Ramona Predescu (Iacob), IWG Country Manager for Romania & Bulgaria commented, “Romania is a fast-growing, dynamic market and we’re seeing high demand for hybrid working solutions amongst businesses of all sizes. As a result, we are very pleased to provide our cutting-edge and professional workspaces, such as Regus Bucharest City Gate, to the working community of Romania.”
