RebelDot opens, in Cluj-Napoca, the third office in Romania optimized through the hybrid work system
• Most of RebelDot’s 160 employees currently work in a hybrid system
• RebelDot adds its own cafe, RebelCafé, and a co-working space to the new space
• RebelDot plans to refurbish the space in Oradea, to adapt it to hybrid work
• The company has physical offices in Romania and Denmark
RebelDot, a software development company from Cluj, opens its third office in the country and the company’s main headquarters, in Cluj-Napoca, within the Buftea Business Center, adapted to the hybrid way of working. Most of RebelDot’s 160 employees currently work in a hybrid system.
The company has a total of four physical offices, in Cluj-Napoca, where it has two headquarters, Oradea and Copenhagen (Denmark).
This year, RebelDot also plans to refurbish the space in Oradea, to adapt it to hybrid work. The second office opened in Cluj-Napoca, the secondary headquarters of the company, has already been optimized for hybrid work and recently transformed into a pet-friendly space.
“There’s no doubt that the future of work in IT is hybrid, and employees have increasingly high expectations of the flexibility their employers offer them. If an IT company were to revert to an office-only working arrangement, it would risk losing most of the talent for which, in the last two years, there were no more geographical barriers. The IT industry in Romania is young and many of the employees feel comfortable with WFH – we have colleagues who finished their studies and entered the world of work during the pandemic, working exclusively remotely. At the same time, for Generation Z and Millennials, returning to the office means continuing personal relationships, in which they invested pre-pandemic. But they don’t want to go back to their old workspaces and will look for those employers who offer them comfortable workspaces. The needs of these employees have a major impact on the decisions regarding the rethinking of office spaces and the development opportunities of the companies”, says Tudor Ciuleanu, CEO of RebelDot.
Closed circuit cafe for RebelDot employees and their guests
Starting from this need for flexibility, RebelDot returned to Buftea Business Center, where the company’s first headquarters operated, relocated, during the pandemic, to a space that offered more privacy and respected the restrictions imposed at that time. The new headquarters was set up, this time, adapted to the needs of the new way of working. During the pandemic over the past two years, many people have worked from coffee shops across the country or around the world in addition to their home offices.
The Rebel team decided to bring the cafe into the office space and provide that unique feeling of having a social place that stimulates creativity and makes you feel far away from the classic office space. RebelCafé is a closed circuit cafe accessible to RebelDot employees and their guests, and consumption is free.
To contribute to the sense of belonging to the team and encourage the adoption of the RebelDot culture, in addition to the RebelCafé, employees can spend time in the spacious lounge and relax in the dedicated games room.
If RebelDot team members need more privacy or want to schedule brainstorming sessions with their teams, have meetings with clients, they can reserve a meeting room or a project room in the 10 designated areas in the new headquarters.
