Societe Generale European Business Services supports Romanian start-up Hire up
Societe Generale European Business Services (SG EBS), part of the Societe Generale International Group, begins a one-year collaboration with Romanian start-up called Hire up.
By doing this, SG EBS continues its digital transformation strategy, supports the Romanian ecosystem of start-ups and goes further with the commitment to invest in the community of which it is part. This partnership means promoting IT jobs available within SG EBS on the Hire up platform, a platform that allows people to recommend their friends or acquaintances in the community of which they are part of the vacancies.
Hire up is a “Peer-to-Peer” recruitment platform that rewards successful recommendations. Launched in February 2019, the Hire up platform helps companies reach their recruitment goals in a highly competitive job market, connecting them with recommendations from the entire community and not just their employees. On Hire up, candidates do not apply for vacant positions, but are recommended by people in their network to the opportunities that best suit them.
Societe Generale European Business Services, present on the Romanian market since 2011, assumes in all its activities the four basic values of the SG International Group: team spirit, responsibility, innovation and commitment. To stimulate innovation, the company has organized, during the last 3 years, an accelerator program, called Catalyst, dedicated to Romanian start-ups. As part of the program, the participating teams worked in Agile mode to develop the technological products necessary to solve some business challenges of SG EBS.

“Our collaboration with the Romanian start-ups has started with the first edition of the Catalyst program and will continue because the digital transformation of the banking system is not just a “nice-to-have” thing, it is a real necessity. Therefore, it was not a surprise our association with the Hire up platform, but the next step for our involvement in the Romanian start-up ecosystem. It is a pleasure for us to support these wonderful initiatives and we encourage all those who have a different and innovative idea to go ahead and work hard to make their dreams come true. We will always support as much as possible their vision and plans for a better future,” says Matthieu Pasquier, CEO of SG EBS.
“We are grateful to SG EBS for the enthusiasm and openness with which they adopted our idea of transforming recruitment. We are pleased to have them join us in this democratization of recruitment process, in which any professional, regardless of whether or not he has a recruiting background, can get involved and get a reward for identifying the right candidates. Feedback from our partners is critical to the direction in which the platform will evolve and we are glad to have a top employer with us to build on,” says Mihaela Nedelcu, Founder of Hire up.
