The investments will be directed, mainly, towards the opening of two new warehouses in Romania and in the extension of the network of pick-up points, the company aiming at doubling them by the end of the year. Packeta will continue its previous investments in logistics development, technical and parcel handling equipment, platform development, increasing staffing, creating new international shipping lines, technical integration and increasing the number of online stores. partners.
Packeta Romania’s investment plans are based on a significant increase, the company registering a turnover of over 11.7 million euros last year, an increase of 160% compared to the previous year.
“Due to the potential of the delivery market and due to the evolution of online commerce locally, Romania is at the center of the company’s concerns at group level. Packeta’s plans in Romania are thus focused on the development of delivery capacities throughout the country, being at the same time interested in contributing to the development of the industry and offering quality services at advantageous prices, especially in the current context “, says Alexandr Jeleascov, CEO Romania, mentioning that among the priorities of this year of the company is the doubling of the network of pick-up points, at over 1,000 locations.
“Transport tariffs are becoming more important in this period of increases in fuel prices, rising inflation, the conflict on the Romanian border, and the fact that we practice the lowest shipping costs, of only 7 lei without VAT, at any pick-up point in Romania is likely to generate significant savings for partner online stores ”.
Thus, from the point of view of transport and return logistics, the costs of an online store that delivers at pick-up points are 35% – 40% lower than the costs involved in delivering parcels to the address.
