Live shopping, direct-to-consumer and conversational commerce, top e-commerce trends in 2022: Zitec
According to Zitec, leader in the Romanian IT & digital marketing market, specialized in the development of digital transformation solutions and services, the most important technological trends in the e-commerce industry in 2022 will include live-shopping sessions, the direct sales model to the final consumer (D2C) and conversational trade.
Starting in 2019, Zitec is one of the implementing partners of VTEX, the enterprise platform for digital commerce, dedicated to brands and retailers, a leader in accelerating the transformation of digital commerce in Latin America. VTEX was named by Gartner as Visionary in last year’s edition of the Magic Quadrant for Digital Commerce report, 2021 being the second consecutive year the company was selected in this ranking, based on the accelerated global progress made during a successful year , marked by three purchases and listing on the stock exchange. Through this partnership, Zitec became the first company in Romania to implement VTEX’s digital commerce solutions for its customers in the country.
According to Zitec data, most of the requests registered last year for the development of e-commerce projects came from the fashion industry, followed by the electro-IT and DIY industry. For the current year, the company estimates that the biggest increases will be reported by industries such as retail & distribution, logistics & transportation, technology, but also health.
Also, the most common requests from online stores have focused on migrating to competitive e-commerce platforms and improving the user experience, with many companies having to optimize the personalized digital interaction they offer due to the increased number of consumers in online.
In terms of the trends that will characterize the e-commerce industry this year, live shopping – or livestreaming – is gaining ground, with the video format being preferred by customers. Live shopping is a combination of entertainment and digital commerce, which brings a much more interesting, interactive and personalized experience, in which shoppers watch a live presentation of the product, ask the questions they want answered and buy through a simple click.
