Romanian smart infrastructure solutions integrator Datacor aims 15 per cent rise in turnover in 2021
Romanian integrator of intelligent infrastructure solutions Datacor said it plans to launch its products on the European market and expects a 15 per cent rise in turnover this year, to 10.62 million Euro.
The main objectives for the company in 2020 were to develop the necessary capabilities in order to be able this year to launch its products on the European market and maintain the profit rate, Datacor said in a press release.
“There are several factors that make us believe that now is the opportune moment to launch the production of fiber optic connectivity elements. In Europe, access to information has become a priority and large-scale projects are planned to develop communication infrastructures, all of which need the speed and security offered by a fiber optic communications platform (either FTTH or 5G networks),” Datacor CEO Bogdan Bilegan said.
“Also, in the current global situation, imports from Asia are much more difficult than in previous years, and this aspect would be an additional argument for opening production facilities in our area,” Bilegan added.
Datacor’s revenue rose to 45 million lei in 2020, slightly up compared to 2019.
In August, the company announced that it was investing 1.25 million euro ($1.45 million) in a factory for fiber optic cables for the telecommunications industry. The factory in Bistrita-Sud Industrial Park is expected to start production in January 2021, addressing the fiber-to-the-home, data centers, 5G and LANs market segments. Works on the new manufacturing facility started in the spring of 2018.
Datacor, established in 2002, currently employs 81 in Bistrita, Bucharest and Cluj.
