The 5th edition of Cegeka Academy returns in partnership with ING Bank: a step towards the sustainability and growth of IT in Romania

Cegeka Romania launches the fifth edition of Cegeka Academy in partnership with ING Bank, to offer opportunities to engineers who are just starting out in Python & AI Integration and DevOps. Through this program, the two companies aim to contribute to creating a balance between juniors and seniors, essential for a sustainable development of the IT industry in Romania.

“We are aware of the difficulties that juniors face in finding a first job and we know how important it is to have access to opportunities, not just theory. Cegeka Academy is not only about learning, but also about opening doors, giving engineers the chance to put what they know into practice and develop in a dynamic environment, alongside experienced professionals. We invest in the future not only to train specialists, but because a healthy industry needs new people, motivated and prepared to grow with us”, said Ovidiu Pinghioiu, Managing Director at Cegeka Romania.
The collaboration with ING Bank Romania brings added value to this edition, as students will have access to both a broader perspective on the industry and the knowledge of a global player in the financial and technological fields. It is a program that focuses on both the theoretical and technical aspects, where participants will have the chance to collaborate with some of the best professionals in the field. At the end of the program, of the 30 students in Bucharest, some will be able to get a job at Cegeka, where they will work on projects alongside ING Bank Romania.
The other students will receive other opportunities to be integrated into various projects of the company.

“We believe that progress comes through sharing knowledge and supporting those at the beginning of the journey. At ING Bank, we are constantly looking for good specialists for the beautiful and specific challenges of the banking industry. We are delighted to join this program and contribute to the training of a new generation of IT specialists, giving them the necessary tools to face the challenges in the industry,” said Delia Albu, IT Lead, ING Bank.
Development of technical and soft skills
The program runs for 12 weeks, from April to July. During this time, students will learn both technical concepts, communication skills, soft skills and how to become good consultants in the IT industry.
“This combination of technical knowledge, soft skills and consulting will provide students with a complete vision of a project from start to finish, so that they understand how each technical decision influences the final result. The goal of the program is that, at the end of the 12 weeks, students will be prepared to face the challenges of the industry and develop a consulting engineer mentality, able to identify opportunities and propose effective solutions,” said Lucian Popovici, Engineering Director at Cegeka Romania.
Throughout the first four editions, Cegeka focused on the basic technologies: .NET, Java, Front-end, QA and DevOps. Starting with the fifth edition, the Academy will focus on Python & AI Integration and DevOps, to meet the need to train specialists in automation and data valorization.
