Daniela Micușan, CEO of Majorel Romania: Implementing new tools and techniques that will further facilitate internal communication is crucial
2020 has been a tough year for all, not only for people, but also for the businesses. The global pandemic has turned the world upside, forcing businesses to reinvent themselves, learn, adapt, and implement new course of actions to keep the pace of the modern times. For some, it was incredibly challenging; but Majorel Romania and Majorel, as a global company, has used this unprecedented moment in history as an opportunity to further move forward.
In this article, Daniela Micușan, CEO of Majorel Romania who has recently received the CEO OF THE YEAR AWARD will answer a few questions about the challenges of the past year and the prospects of the future.
What do you think will be the main business drivers for business growth in your company 2021?
Last year, Majorel Romania was a pioneer within Majorel Group at successfully adopting the work-from-home program and further expanding client portfolio, despite the crisis. None of these successful outcomes could have been achieved without our amazing team, holding tight to our values and always striving for perfection.
Looking ahead, I would highlight quality, adaptability, and people as our key business drivers. Despite the uncertainties that 2021 might bring, we will continue further expanding our team. Through our joint strengths, we will spare no effort to deliver excellent customer service, contributing to the welfare of our company and also, supporting the local economy.
Will your company assist to a Great Reset-oriented strategy in business or returning to business-as-usual?
All businesses and business leaders realize that change is inevitable. We have already taken measures to fully adapt to the new work culture – procured and developed technical and operational tools to accommodate remote work and new needs of our clients, digitalized our work processes and, at the same time, learned how to keep the pace, further improve and push ourselves to excellence each and every day. We will maintain the same approach and our strategy for 2021 will be adjusted and tailored to global processes and needs.
What was the flag-ship project of 2020 in your company?
I would highlight those projects that aim at the well-being, engagement, professional, and personal development of our people both within and beyond our community. Namely, the Feel Good Program that gives our employees a voice and, as a result of numerous interesting, engaging and out-of-the-box initiatives, guarantees that each and every member of our team feels good at any Majorel locations around the world. Also, the Talent Enrichment Program that supports internal growth and movement of our people and further enriches our talent pool. As part of the Talent Enrichment Program, we conduct professional trainings for our people, help them acquire new skills, the best practices, and real know-hows to get the coveted position within our company.
What kind of workspace culture & values is to be consolidated in your company in 2021?
Our people lie at the heart of our business; therefore, in 2021, we will continue being focused on the well-being and advancement of our team members. We will keep the Feel Good and the Talent Enrichment programs in force and further put efforts in caring for the welfare of our community.
What is a manager’s role and skills in order to maintain and enhance a team’s cohesion?
Being a leader, I have a huge responsibility to my team. I put efforts in improving the overall emotional intelligence of our team – developing and maintaining strong professional relationships that are built on mutual trust and respect. I listen and give voice to, empower and inspire our colleagues to turn their ideas into actions. By valuing everyone’s contribution to the company’s overall success, we set goals together and fuel our best performance to push ourselves and, in turn, the company to greatness.
What kind of skills and capabilities need to be improved in your company in 2021?
First of all, internal communication. Being a global company, aligned communication is the key to foster the company’s smooth operation. Therefore, I think implementing new tools and techniques that will further facilitate internal communication is crucial. Professional and personal growth of our team has always been one of our top priorities and 2021 will be no exception –
we will further work hard to support the well-being of and improve the expertise amongst our colleagues.
In term of general business & teams’ core-values, which are your 3 power words for 2021?
I would say, communication, understanding, and adapting. Even though the global pandemic is still ongoing and we still do face quite a lot of challenges, I believe, by putting ourselves in each others’ shoes and by being united as #OneTeam, we will shield against difficulties and keep progressing.
