Mihai Matei, President of ANIS joins The Board of Directors of CNTD
The Romanian Digitalization Authority (ADR) invited Mihai Matei, President of ANIS, to join the Board of the National Council for Digital Transformation (CNTD), which is the advisory body of ADR, created to collaborate with the private sector and civil society. In this partnership, whose common goal is the digitization of public services and the private environment, ANIS comes with the combined expertise of the 140 members, software companies and IT services, as well as access to DIGITALEUROPE resources, a body representing the European digital technology industry. .
“We welcome the establishment of the National Council for Digital Transformation and I am honored to be part of the Board of Directors, along with important actors from the private and academic environment. We appreciate the collaborative, inter-institutional approach to work, based on trust. Today’s decisions will shape Romania in the next five years, and keeping pace with technological development and progress in Europe is essential. CNTD can be the reference voice in digital transformation, and we are ready to put on the table all the resources to achieve the common goal “, said Mihai Matei, President of ANIS.
Among CNTD’s priorities are: elaboration of recommendations on public policies in the field of digital transformation, participation – as an advisory body – in the elaboration of the normative and institutional framework in the field of digital transformation, including on the interoperability of information systems of public institutions; debates on topics of interest on the public agenda in the field of digital transformation, analysis and proposal of solutions for the digital transformation of public institutions in Romania.
According to ANIS, the CNTD mission is a priority for our country, in the context in which Romania is on the last place in the Digital Economy and Society (DESI) Index in terms of digitalization of public administration, at a considerable distance from the EU average. On the other hand, Romanian IT specialists are globally recognized for their performance, as are local software companies. In order to close the gap and accelerate the digital transformation, Romania has at its disposal important funds from the European Union budget for the period 2021-2027 and from the financial package made available to the Member States for relaunch and resilience.
