Wizrom Software: Work From Home is the new normal and will continue in 2021
Remote work is currently a normality for the vast majority of global organizations, and this trend will continue in the next two to three years, according to Wizrom Software, one of the leading developers and integrators of business software in Romania. The IT developer mentions that, in a context still full of uncertainties regarding health issues, the continuous activity of companies can be ensured only by digitizing operations.
The adoption of remote work (generically called “Work From Home”, but which can take place from anywhere in the world, provided access to the necessary IT equipment and infrastructure) is now normal for 80% of global companies in the context of the crisis coronavirus, shows the latest study by consulting firm PwC, conducted on a sample of 300 organizations globally, published the other day. Remote work, implemented in recent months, in many fields of activity, as a result of health restrictions, social distance and traffic, has become a certainty that has been embraced by many employees and employers alike.
The old normal way of working no longer exists. Waiting without acting is not an option.
“The old normal no longer exists and will not exist in the next two or three years. The better companies and managers understand this aspect, the faster we will be able to assume and get used to the new normality. The pandemic has changed many things worldwide, starting with the way we work, consumption habits, living standards, stimulated creativity in many areas and generated rapid transformations in industries where operations could not stop. We must be aware of all these things and perceive the new reality as our future in the coming years. I believe that all companies, from the smallest, should ensure that they can provide employees with the right conditions not only to work, but to be efficient and productive even from home, investing in digitization solutions. Waiting for things to return to the way they were before is not an option“, points out Anca Cîrstoiu, Division Manager Small & Medium Business within Wizrom Software.
Many companies in Romania (and not only) were forced, in the last months of the year, to adapt and adopt the digitization of operations, in order to continue their activity. “For some of them, especially at the level of SMEs, the embrace of new technologies was the only way to survive. Those who did not respond quickly to change suffered, either because they had to take a break from business or because they lost business opportunities. But it is not a waste of time. The context remains such that investing in digitalization even now can make a significant difference in the company’s success. However, it is particularly important to be aware that this will be the new reality of the coming years. It is up to us to turn it into an experience as easy as possible with the help of technology “, adds Anca Cîrstoiu.
According to PwC, over 50% of the companies participating in the global survey have created and implemented, during all this time, a work from home policy. Of the remaining 47%, more than half anticipate that they plan to introduce this work policy by the end of this year or plan to improve it.
Digital business solutions will support remote work in upcoming years
According to Wizrom Software, given the new healthcare environment and the desire to protect the health and safety of employees, companies will pay close attention to those software that will ensure productivity and work efficiency and try to minimize the effects of remote collaboration and work. in which employees have already begun to feel the physical separation of team and collaborators.
Given the new difficult economic context that some companies are going through, especially those in the category of SMEs, but also freelancers or non-governmental organizations, the Romanian state (Ministry of Economy, Energy and Business Environment) has decided to provide non-reimbursable external funds (European funds and from the state budget) grants of 2,000 euros to those micro-enterprises, authorized individuals, NGOs and medical practices. At the same time, the authorities stated that, beyond the funding programs and aid schemes, addressed to institutions and companies in difficulty, there is an urgent need for digitalization: both of companies and public administration.
