Ana Maria Andronic is the new President of TechAngels
The Board of TechAngels has appointed Ana Maria Andronic as President, for a mandate that she will exercise until the next internal elections, scheduled for next year.
In her new role, Ana Maria Andronic will contribute to the development of the association as a relevant platform for angel investments, with a focus on solid investment opportunities, founders better prepared for financing, collaboration between investors and strengthening ties with the entrepreneurial ecosystem.
Ana Maria Andronic ran for and was elected as a member of the association’s Board last year and has been active in the Romanian startup ecosystem for over 15 years. She co-founded Venture Connect, the first initiative in Romania that facilitated investments in tech startups, and has been known as an active angel investor since 2010. His profile combines investment experience with intellectual property expertise and hands-on involvement in well-known investment rounds and exit deals in the tech startup area.
“I’ve seen TechAngels ‘in action’ from many perspectives: members who have had numerous late-night discussions with founders, some of them have made introductions and connections that have really changed the trajectory of some companies, others have openly shared lessons learned, and most importantly, many of them have supported people long before anyone else believed in them. This spirit is what makes this community truly special,” said Ana Maria Andronic.
“As a community of investors, our mission is to create solid investment opportunities and significant returns. This means companies that are more prepared for financing, more capital attracted to the community, quality deal flow and results that inspire the next generation of founders and investors,” added Ana Maria Andronic.
These directions continue an active agenda of TechAngels, which includes involvement in consultations on legislation with an impact on investments, collaboration with organizations that contribute to the development of the entrepreneurial ecosystem and strengthening the role of the association as a benchmark for founders looking for capital, experience and relevant connections.
Ana Maria Andronic’s appointment follows the decision taken by the members of the TechAngels Board, after Marius Istrate, previously President, took over new responsibilities within the 3VC investment fund. These responsibilities no longer allow the exercise of the position of President, but Marius Istrate will continue to contribute to the activity of the association as a member of the Board.
“We have built good things together for the technology angel investing scene and I am glad that we have a strong Board, involved and determined to take things forward. There are important issues ahead of us, including dialogue with authorities on legislation that impacts investments, collaboration with organizations that contribute to the development of the entrepreneurial ecosystem and maintaining TechAngels as a benchmark for founders at the beginning of their journey. Ana Maria Andronic has the experience, reputation and energy necessary to guide TechAngels at this stage, and our support is full”, said Marius Istrate, member of the TechAngels Board.
