CCIFER: 30 years in Romania and a new Board of Directors
The French Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture in Romania (CCIFER) has appointed its new management team during the annual General Assembly of its members, which took place on March 16 and brought together approximately 200 representatives of the Franco-Romanian business community. With 600 active members with a turnover of over 47 billion euros, CCIFER marks 30 years of presence and representation in Romania and proposes a development plan for the next 30 years.
This year, CCIFER marks 30 years of presence in Romania, and the new Board of Directors recently elected during the annual General Assembly of its members reconfirms its commitment to supporting Romania’s development agenda in strategic economic sectors.
“In an international context marked by change and relocation of centers of influence, shared values and a coherent development vision coupled with a firm commitment to progress and well-being are becoming vital elements for a secure and prosperous society. For 30 years, CCIFER has been providing a solid platform that successfully represents the development objectives in Romania of over 600 members of the Franco-Romanian business community that create over 260,000 jobs in the local economy. “Growing together” is the motto that has guided us and continues to define our activity, and our mandate this year will focus, in addition to the annual objectives, on defining a development vision for Romania for the next 30 years, in line with the priorities of our community.” said Nicolas Richard, President of CCIFER.
With the broad mission of facilitating and accelerating bilateral economic ties between Romania and France, CCIFER has organized over 1,500 events in its 30 years of presence on the local market, provided strategic advice to over 900 companies and involved over 3,000 students in training or career counseling programs. Also, approximately 70% of the members represented by CCIFER come from the SME sector, so promoting public-private dialogue and a fiscal ecosystem that supports entrepreneurship and innovation are also important objectives of the chamber’s mandate in Romania.
