Gabriel Gătejoiu is the new President of the Association of Human Resources Service Providers (AFSRU)
Gabriel Gătejoiu, HR Operations & Business Development Director of Professional HR Agency, a full-service human resources provider, is the new President of the Association of Human Resources Service Providers (AFSRU).
Gabriel Gătejoiu takes over from Sorina Donisa, CEO of Prohuman Romania, who led the Association for the last two years and strengthened AFSRU’s role in social dialogue and in adapting labor market legislation.
“It is a responsibility that I take on with great respect and with a genuine desire to continue what the AFSRU community has built over the years. For me, AFSRU is more than a professional association, it is a strong community, where each member contributes to transforming the labor market and creating an environment where flexibility, professionalism and trust become standard. Together, we can continue this essential dialogue with the authorities and social partners and support a predictable and modern framework for human resources services in Romania,” said Gabriel Gătejoiu, the new AFSRU President.
The Association of Human Resources Service Providers (AFSRU) continues its mission to be an active voice in the Romanian labor market, working day by day alongside social partners, public institutions and professionals in the field to create a fairer, more flexible and more adapted working environment to current realities.
One of the Association’s most important initiatives is its involvement in the Inter-institutional Working Group for the Repatriation of Romanian Workers Abroad, coordinated by the Presidential Administration. The AFSRU team dedicates time and resources to directly understand the needs of employers, to identify real jobs and to build a framework in which Romanians who have left have reasons to return home. The goal is simple but essential: to facilitate the return of people to their communities and to offer them safe and sustainable professional opportunities.
At the same time, AFSRU is actively working to update the legislation on the temporary employment of non-EU citizens, a critical necessity in a labor market increasingly affected by personnel shortages. Through constant dialogue with authorities and social partners, the Association promotes a modern, transparent and functional legal framework that meets the needs of both employers and people looking for a stable job.
All these actions are motivated by a common vision: building a labor market where people, opportunities and solutions are naturally connected, for the benefit of all.
“The labor market is undergoing a profound transformation, from digitalization and AI, to increasing skills shortages and the growing need for flexibility. In this context, I believe that the human resources services sector can offer real and immediate solutions. But real progress only comes when we act together. I wish that AFSRU remains a strong and credible voice in the dialogue with the authorities and all stakeholders involved, a space where our shared expertise is transformed into concrete proposals for a modern and functional labor market. I invite the entire community of human resources service providers to join us in this endeavor, to support high ethical standards, good practices and to build a legislative framework adapted to the realities on the ground, whether we are talking about temporary work, workforce placement, payroll or professional training,” said Gabriel Gătejoiu, AFSRU President.
AFSRU is part of a solid international community, being a member of the World Employment Confederation, an organization that brings together human resources service providers from over 50 countries. Membership in this network gives the Association access to global know-how, relevant studies and regulatory models validated in other markets, essential elements in an industry that is in constant change. This connection to European and international trends allows AFSRU to bring to Romania current perspectives and solutions aligned with modern work standards, thus contributing to the consolidation of a labor market adapted to the future and to the coherent representation of the interests of the sector in the dialogue with the authorities.
Human Resources Sector is evolving rapidly and needs clear benchmarks. Therefore, promoting high standards of ethics, professionalism and responsibility remains a constant priority. The AFSRU community actively contributes to educating the market, clarifying the legislative framework and spreading good practices, so that the entire industry becomes a mature, predictable and people-oriented one.
“Within AFSRU we have a real space for collaboration, where members together analyze legislative changes and how they influence the labor market. We are interested not only in understanding the regulations correctly, but also in actively contributing to their improvement, providing authorities with clear and well-founded perspectives. In parallel, we build initiatives and events that open relevant discussions on the transformations the labor market is going through. The annual AFSRU conference, HR Insights Forum, is one such example, a place where industry leaders were able to explore topics such as temporary work at European level, flexible employment or the impact of non-EU workers. Constant dialogue with industry specialists is essential to shape a modern working framework and balanced, in which all parties can evolve in the same direction”, emphasized Gabriel Gătejoiu.
