Supertree Workspaces & More: Tax hikes boost flexible office market. Medium and large companies choose to rent coworking spaces to reduce expenses and benefit from flexible contractual terms
Tax increases are pushing companies towards flexible offices. In the current economic context, characterized by inflation and tax changes, companies in Romania are reconsidering the costs of purchasing or renting a permanent office and are increasingly turning to renting coworking spaces to optimize their budgets, according to Supertree Workspaces & More, which has introduced an ecosystem of integrated services for entrepreneurs on the market – coworking spaces, business consulting and a networking and mentoring network.

Renting a coworking space starts at around 700 euros and can go up to 10,000 euros, depending on the type of office chosen, the number of users, and the contracted period. More and more companies and entrepreneurs are choosing coworking over traditional long-term rented offices due to the contractual flexibility and the elimination of significant additional costs, such as furnishing, installing internet services, or purchasing essential equipment for carrying out the activity.
“In 2025, the co-working market is among the big winners of the economic context: increasing fixed costs and fiscal pressure are driving companies to choose flexible spaces, with advantageous contracts and premium facilities. Increasingly, co-working offices are rented on a medium-long-term basis for departments or projects, and entrepreneurs and small teams use them constantly. Companies choose Supertree not only for the modern and flexible workspaces, but also for the included benefits package – from business consulting and mentoring programs, to constant networking opportunities. All of this provides them with concrete support in making strategic decisions and accelerating the development of their businesses. This summer, the occupancy rate exceeded 60%, and by the end of the year, we estimate 85-90%, amid increased demand from SMEs and multinational companies”, says Gianina Crăciun, Founder of Supertree Workspaces & More.
Flexible offices, the preferred solution of multinationals, SMEs, and freelancers
While in the past, coworking was preferred mainly by freelancers, now flexible offices are increasingly chosen by multinational companies, large Romanian companies, SMEs, entrepreneurs, solopreneurs, and specialists in liberal professions from various fields, including construction, IT, tech, pharma, fintech, consulting, law, as shown by the Supertree Workspaces & More analysis from Globalworth BOC Tower. A recent example is an agricultural company from France, which rented a private office for its team in Romania.

The average rental period is 1-2 years for private offices and 12 months for open space, for teams or departments, 5-15 people, for optimizing expenses, flexible contracts and included services – from utilities and internet to meeting rooms, reception, free access to a community of specialists, business consulting, events.
Coworking spaces are preferred today not only for flexible offices, but also for meeting rooms fully equipped with a video projector, a microphone, and cameras, thematic workshops and networking, offering a professional environment at more affordable costs compared to a classic office. Companies especially appreciate access to business consulting – a unique service on the market – which helps them make strategic decisions and streamline their processes. In addition, mentoring programs and the active community of professionals support the rapid launch of projects and sustainable business development, while multinationals find here the necessary support to enter the Romanian market. “We created Supertree not just as a coworking space, but as an ecosystem with integrated services and extensive benefits – from modern flexible offices to business consulting and access to mentorship,” says Gianina Crăciun, Founder of Supertree Workspaces & More.
Supertree’s benefits and amenities make the difference in choosing a workspace: through the “Il Pensatoio” mentoring program, members have access to industry experts, personalized feedback, strategic guidance, and networking opportunities, supporting project development and business decision-making.
With 2,200 sqm of modern spaces, entrepreneurs and companies have access to 34 private offices for 2-6 people, ranging in size from 11 to 60 sqm, 3 open-space areas with a capacity of 60 private desks, over 60 hot desk seats, meeting rooms, training and workshop rooms, all fully equipped and customizable. In total, Supertree has desks for 280 people. There are also dedicated spaces for training, workshops, meetings, and collaborative work sessions. All spaces are fully equipped, ergonomic, and can be customized according to the team’s needs.

Supertree spaces offer high-speed Wi-Fi, drinks, a lounge, a concierge, a courier, a printer, workshops, free yoga and massage, underground parking, and a podcast studio, plus additional options such as medical subscriptions and corporate event rooms with a state-of-the-art videowall for a capacity of 170 people.
The coworking market is growing, and in 2025, it is estimated that over 30% of SMEs will use such spaces. Bucharest exceeded the 40,000 sq m threshold of coworking in 2024, over 20% more than in 2023.
