ProVision Security Day warns of the impact of using GenAI in cybercrime
ProVision Security Day, the leading local event for the cyber security sector, will host a panel dedicated to the increasing use of GenAI in cybercrime operations.
The organizers set out to demonstrate that GenAI tools are used both in the arsenal of security equipment, for automating data monitoring and prioritizing response actions, and by hackers, who use them to refine attack messages.
The report “AI in Cybersecurity: Friend or Foe?” conducted by Deep Instinct on a sample of 650 specialists shows that 97% of them are concerned that their organizations will be affected by the use of AI in cybercrime operations. At the same time, 75% of participants admit that the evolution of AI has affected and changed their cyber security strategy in the last 12 months. AI abuse is also ranked 9th in the “Top 10 Emerging Cybersecurity Threats for 2030” by the European Union Cyber Security Agency (ENISA).
In this context, on November 6, ProVision Security Day will address how AI improves threat detection, automates responses and optimizes security operations, while addressing the risks associated with the misuse of AI in phishing, deepfakes and sophisticated cyber attacks. Attendees will gain valuable insight into both the benefits and challenges of integrating AI into cybersecurity, preparing them to effectively navigate an ever-evolving threat landscape.
“Generative AI (GenAI) is a double-edged sword, and at ProVision Security Day we aim to explore this reality in detail. On the one hand, GenAI transforms data analysis processes, facilitating rapid anomaly detection and improving response time to security incidents. On the other hand, it gives cybercriminals, even those with limited technical training, the ability to launch more sophisticated and hard-to-detect attacks. This topic is of major interest to the entire cybersecurity expert community, and our guests will bring concrete examples from both perspectives. Now in its 11th edition, the event expects to gather over 500 participants” says Alexandru Andriescu, Founder of ProVision and organizer of the event.
The 2024 edition of ProVision Security Day enjoys a large international presence, with no less than 30 speakers representing more than 17 companies taking to the conference stage. The agenda is complex, and in addition to the impact of GenAI, the topic will include: the use of threat intelligence as a competitive advantage, the essential capabilities of a Security Operation Center, the platformization of the security industry, and others.
Also, the experts present at the event will be available for individual information and consultation sessions. The event will take place on November 6 at the Face Convention Center and is organized by ProVision in collaboration with its main business partners.
