Atos Successfully Provided Essential IT Services and Applications for UEFA EURO 2024

As the official IT partner of UEFA, Atos successfully delivered services and support for applications during UEFA EURO 2024, held from June 14 to July 14, 2024. In this prestigious tournament, Atos played a crucial role in ensuring the functionality and security of IT infrastructure, facilitating the electrifying experience of one of the most iconic football tournaments to hundreds of millions of fans worldwide. The dedicated Atos team for this event included 12 specialists from Atos Global Delivery Center SRL – Romania.

Atos supported UEFA with core IT solutions such as event management systems, accreditation and controlled access solutions, IT infrastructure management, and cloud services, all at the highest levels of reliability, efficiency, and security. Additionally, the company provided on-site IT support at the 10 tournament stadiums as well as at the International Broadcast Centre in Leipzig, Germany.

Furthermore, Atos assisted UEFA with some of the most innovative solutions launched at UEFA EURO 2024™, including the Football Service Platform, which provides data and statistics such as match results, team line-ups, live match events, player status, and rankings. The company also contributed to enhancing the functionality of the mobile app and website to increase their usage by competition fans, including UEFA’s gaming app initiative.

12 Romanian Specialists Part of Atos Team for UEFA EURO 2024

Atos Global Delivery Center SRL – Romania, along with the rest of the Atos group, played an essential role in the dedicated team for UEFA EURO 2024, where 12 Romanian IT specialists significantly contributed to the tournament’s success. They were part of an international team of IT experts managing and operating the complex systems necessary for the event.

The Atos team comprised IT location managers, application coordinators for locations, and Service Desk specialists present at the 10 tournament stadiums, as well as team members who worked from the International Broadcast Centre and UEFA’s IT Command Centre in Leipzig (Germany) or from other locations such as Switzerland, Spain, Egypt, Poland, Romania, and France.

The entire Atos team played a major role in providing on-site and remote assistance, ensuring the continuity and security of services provided, thus decisively contributing to transforming EURO 2024 into a global success..

During the competition, Atos relied on cutting-edge cloud solutions provided by its trusted partner AWS. Additionally, to ensure the availability of services and the real-time distribution of data to all interested parties, Atos had to scale the critical infrastructure according to user demand.
