BRCC Garden Event: Memorable evening of networking and entertainment in the gardens of the Crowne Plaza Hotel Bucharest
British-Romanian Chamber of Commerce (BRCC) successfully organized the traditional edition of its annual event “BRCC Garden Event” on July 11 this year, in the picturesque gardens of the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Bucharest.
The event, which was attended by over 140 people, celebrated the ties between Great Britain and Romania in an atmosphere full of elegance and sophistication. Among the countless participants, I also greeted the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Luca Niculescu, who works on Romania’s accession file to the OECD, the president of the Competition Council, Bogdan Chirițoiu, as well as many well-known businessmen.
The evening was marked by lively conversations and valuable networking opportunities for members of the British and Romanian business community. The guests, dressed (at the behest of the organizers) in cocktail attire in pastel shades, had the opportunity to enjoy a multisensory experience that combined quality networking with exceptional entertainment. The highlight of the evening was the live recital by Irina Sârbu, one of the most popular jazz voices in Romania. Accompanied by the pianist Puiu Pascu, with whom she has been collaborating for over two decades, Irina Sârbu delighted the audience with original interpretations of some classic jazz pieces, proving once again why she is considered an international artist.
“We are delighted with the success of this edition of the BRCC Garden Event. The event was sold-out, which demonstrates the increased interest in strengthening business and cultural relations between the UK and Romania”, said Colin Lovering, BRCC President. In his speech, Mr. Lovering said: “We have to enjoy every opportunity that makes us smile. Our work, our family, the country we live in… and the BRCC Garden Party.”
He added: “We still live in an unpredictable world, which I also talked about in last year’s speech. Elections, the unforgivable atrocities still happening in Ukraine and other parts of the world. Artificial intelligence and technology, despite the enormous advantages they offer, are dramatically changing the world we live in and human instincts, cognitive importance, and even emotional attachment.”
A new element of this year’s event was the partnership with Blue, a Romanian ride-hailing company, part of the Autonom mobility network. Blue provided attendees with a premium transportation experience using electric vehicles, thus underscoring BRCC’s commitment to sustainability and innovation in mobility. BRCC is probably the ideal choice for Romanian companies that have reached a stage of development where they want to internationalize in a sophisticated and demanding but rewarding market, such as the UK.
The British-Romanian Chamber of Commerce thanks all the participants, partners and sponsors who contributed to the success of this event and looks forward to future opportunities to strengthen the links between the British and Romanian business communities.
