INDITEX joins EduAct to offer career guidance to high school students in Romania
EduAct, a non-profit association that implements formal and non-formal education programs for primary, secondary and high school students in educational units identified by the World Bank as having a critical level of performance, launched the Vocational Compass | Compas Vocational program, which offers sessions and activities career guidance for students from two high schools in Satu Mare and two high schools in Bucharest.
Vocational Compass | Compas Vocational s is structured in the form of practical sessions and modules that provide career prospects to high school students, giving them the knowledge they need to make informed decisions about their professional future.
The program includes information sessions on the labor market, personal development workshops, sessions supported by companies that create a bridge between the labor market in different sectors and young people with a CV on the way, as well as work visits and mentoring programs within companies .
The program implemented by the EduAct Association is carried out with the support of INDITEX Romania, a strategic partner of the program, offering financial resources, but also expertise in the field of career guidance.
“We are happy to join EduAct in their mission to provide relevant and necessary information to high school students who are in the process of deciding which career path to choose for the future. We strongly believe that education is the key to a better future and vital for personal development, economic prosperity and social equality, and the Vocational Compass program will give high school students the skills and knowledge they need to more easily identify the career prospects that suit them. Education will always be on the list of priorities for Inditex and we will continue to invest significantly in educational programs that provide young people with opportunities to develop their skills and reach their potential,” the company’s representatives said.
” We are grateful for INDITEX’s support in our career guidance program for high school students. Our belief is that the strength of a developing country lies in the education of children. Sometimes non-governmental organizations, together with the private sector, can be stronger than The state. Two years ago, we asked ourselves what the labor market will look like in 2035, if we keep the same direction? How can we build businesses and think about economic growth, if the local market has no education and, implicitly, no purchasing power “And it doesn’t generate labor? It’s a common effort, supported by values and responsibility towards all of us,” said Ioana Breazu, founder of EduAct.
Currently, Compas Vocational provides career guidance sessions for students of two high schools in Satu Mare and two other high schools in Bucharest. Bimonthly, HR specialists and people from companies, along with personal development advisors, involve 11th grade students in activities and sessions that support them to make professional choices that match their abilities. Through quality educational programs, young people can acquire the necessary skills and knowledge to successfully integrate into the labor market, with considerable impact for them and for society through personal development, economic growth and poverty reduction.
