Grants of ANIS 2024 – The 7th edition: University teachers can obtain grants of 5,000 euros/project for innovation in the teaching process

ANIS, the Employers’ Association of the Software and Services Industry, announces the launch of the seventh edition of the ANIS Scholarships program. As in previous years, the ANIS Scholarships program is aimed at young teachers who integrate new technologies and innovative teaching methods, within the courses or laboratories of the university curriculum. As last year, course holders and university assistants, as well as PhD students, are accepted in the program. The projects selected at the end of the evaluation period will each benefit from a scholarship of 5000 euros. The calendar of the 7th edition of the ANIS Scholarships 2024 program is as follows:
• Program launch: May 22, 2023
• Online information session for those who wish to apply: June 11, 2024.
The event will be attended by both winners from previous editions who will share their experience, as well as members of the evaluation committee, representatives of ANIS – the organizer of the scholarship program, but also potential candidates who will thus have the opportunity to ask questions to clarify different aspect of the program. The aim of the online seminar is to clarify all aspects of participation in the ANIS 2024 Scholarships so that as many academic staff and PhD students as possible can register their projects.

In 2024, the ANIS Scholarships program proposes the following categories to which candidates can enter projects: • Big Data • Cybersecurity • Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning • Virtual Reality • Blockchain • Internet of Things • HealthTech (TB) • AgriTech (TBC) • Tech for All (the introduction of technology courses in non-IT faculties).
Eligibility To be eligible, teachers must be up to 40 years old, be course holders, university assistants or PhD students and integrate innovative teaching technologies and methods in the courses and laboratories of the 2024-2025 academic year and fall within -one of the mentioned categories. Proposed courses or labs must demonstrate the introduction of new technologies and/or new and innovative teaching methods in the 2024-2025 academic year.
Courses and laboratories may be newly introduced in the academic year 2024-2025 or updated at least 50% in the current year or 60% in the last two years.
Registrations for the 2024 edition are expected between September 2-23.
After registration, the selected candidates will have an interview with the members of the evaluation committee, and in November the grants for the selected projects will be awarded, as part of the ANIS 2024 Scholarship Gala. In the last six years, through the ANIS Scholarships program, 67 didactic projects have benefited from sponsorship, which obtained grants with a cumulative value of 335,000 euros. In total, in the previous editions, 211 projects were registered, coming from 51 faculties, from 14 university centers.
At the same time, the program generated several collaborations between companies and academia on R&D projects. The grants are supported every year by ANIS member companies.
