ANIS Scholarships 2023: 25 finalists entered the final evaluation stage. The winners of the 11 scholarships from this edition will be announced on November 15
ANIS, the Employers’ Association of the Software and Services Industry, today announces the finalists for the sixth edition of the ANIS Scholarships program.
Out of 59 projects registered, an absolute record since the beginning of the program, 24 projects qualified for the final evaluation stage, proposed by a number of 25 university assistants, lecturers and PhD students. The winners of the 11 scholarships worth 5,000 euros each will be announced on November 15, during the ANIS 2023 Scholarship Gala event.
Here are the finalist projects from the 7 categories within the program.
Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning
- Tudor Alexandru Ileni, PhD student at Babeș Bolyai University with the “Innovative product design” program
- Mihai Dogariu, lecturer at the National University of Science and Technology POLITEHNICA BUCHAREST, with the “Computer Vision III” program
- Vlad Cristian Miclea, Head of Works at the Technical University of Cluj, with the “Machine Learning” program
- Gabriel Guțu-Robu, Head of Works at “Politehnica” University in Bucharest, with “Adaptive/collaborative systems”
The AI&ML category will benefit from two scholarships.
Big Data
- Codrin Ștefan Eșanu, associate university assistant – PhD student at the University “Al. Ioan Cuza” from Iasi, with the program “Big Data: persistence systems and data processing languages”
- Adrian Spataru, university lecturer at the West University of Timișoara, with the “Big Data Technologies” program
- Mihaela Țiplea, Head of Works at “Dănărea de Jos” University in Galati with the “Big Data Analytics” program
A scholarship will be awarded in the Big Data category.
Cybersecurity
- Rareș Mihail Visalom, PhD student at the National University of Science and Technology POLITEHNICA BUCHAREST, with the “Security of Information Systems” program
- Cătălin Adrian Iordache, PhD student at the National University of Science and Technology POLITEHNICA BUCHAREST, with the “Applied Cryptography” program
- Larisa-Milena Pioraș-Țimbolmaș, associate teaching staff at the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca, with the “Quantum Information Bases” program
- Adrian Alexandrescu, head of works at the Technical University “Gh. Asachi” from Iasi, with the program “Web Security / SSC.IA.203”
- Darius Galiș, doctoral assistant at the Western University of Timișoara, with the “Cryptography and Information Security” program Three scholarships will be awarded in the Cybersecurity category.
Internet of Things (IoT)
- Ana-Maria Drăgulinescu, Head of Works at the National University of Science and Technology POLITEHNICA BUCHAREST, with the project “Microcontrollers, Microprocessors (MM)”
- Florea Pîțu, doctoral student at the University of Bucharest, for the work “The Internet of Objects”
- Trancă Dumitru Cristian, head of works at the National University of Science and Technology POLITEHNICA BUCHAREST, with the project “Data acquisition systems”
In the IoT category, a scholarship will be awarded.
Blockchain
- Darius Galiș, doctoral assistant at the Western University of Timișoara, with the project “Blockchain technology between ideology and challenge”
- Augustin Cătălin Iapă, lecturer at the Politehnica University of Timișoara, with the project “Logic and discrete structures / DF”
A scholarship will be awarded in the Blockchain category.
Virtual Reality
- Elena-Mirela Ștețco, PhD student at the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca, with the paper “Electronic Devices”
- Andrea Simion, PhD student at Babeș-Bolyai University, with the “Virtual Instrumentation” project
- Dana Florentina Manolache, doctoral assistant at the University of Bucharest, with the work “Virtual and Augmented Reality”
A scholarship will be awarded in the Virtual Reality category.
Tech for All
• Mihaela Georgiana Bălan and Paul Pintilie, university lecturers at the “George Enescu” National University of Arts Iași, together with Emanuela Izabela Vieriu, university assistant at the same university, Faculty of Performance, Composition and Theoretical Music Studies, with the works “Musical forms and analyzes ”, “Harmony” and “Counterpoint”, based on the same curricular innovation Cătălina Chinie, PhD university lecturer at ASE Bucharest, with the paper “Enterprise Transformations in the Digital Economy”
Marius Iulian Cluci, associate professor at “Al.Ioan Cuza” University in Iasi, with the “Software tools for Big Data and Machine Learning” project
George Prundaru, lecturer at Babeș-Bolyai University, with “User Experience Design”
Two scholarships will be awarded in the Tech for All category.
In the previous editions of the ANIS Scholarships program, of the 152 projects registered, 56 obtained sponsorships totaling 280,000 euros. This year’s edition is made with the support of Adobe, Bitdefender, Booking Holdings, Deutsche Bank, Endava, Eviden, Softbinator Technologies, Wipro. The ANIS Scholarship Gala where the winners will be announced is supported by Vodafone and Mastercard.
