Andreea Axenie, Teleperformance: “People don’t want to come to the office anymore, but they still want you to engage with them”
“The biggest change that we’ve seen in the last three years refers to the leadership styles, policies, and processes. Those things were built around the idea of meeting. We have great meeting rooms, face-to-face meetings, team huddles based on seeing people in person. For me, that was the biggest change we had to go through, because we didn’t go back to the office. So, we had to rethink how we do leadership, how we stay connected, how we stay empathetic,” Andreea Axenie, CEO for Romania, Teleperformance said during Romanian Business Services Forum organized by Outsourcing Today and The Diplomat-Bucharest.
“We are still learning; we are still changing every day. That was the biggest shift, and some companies adjusted better than the others. We must acknowledge this shift because this reality is here to stay. I’m looking at long-term work from home in our industry. People don’t want to come to the office anymore, but they still want you to engage with them. We had a lot of talks at Teleperformance on how we do employee engagement remotely.
We are services companies, so we are not talking about only our company culture, but also about the company culture of the client that we are serving. All our clients expect our people to behave and feel like they are part of their companies.
For us, the most interesting navigation is how do you maintain the company identity but still provide that company belonging to the client as well because that is what they are expecting.”
