Commons: Three times more office requests for coworking spaces in 2021 compared to 2020
Coworking space chain Commons announces a threefold increase in requests for office rentals in Bucharest, both from freelancers and small and medium-sized companies, according to a statement of the company.
If in the first months of the pandemic, the demand for office space decreased by 90%, as a result of the health crisis, in the first two months of 2021 there were three times more requests for viewing for Commons space, compared to the end last year.
In addition, the total number of members of the Commons network increased by 11% in January, compared to the end of 2020. In February, the number of members of the Commons in Bucharest reached 250 people, representing an occupancy rate of 60%. from the capacity available for the office area.
“Since the start of 2021, we have noticed many more requests from Bucharest residents interested in changing their way of working. These people are often professionals who cannot afford to have a poor work infrastructure: poor internet connection, an inappropriate office, etc., being in search of a favorable working environment“, said Andreea Raveica, community manager within Commons.
Another trend is that of companies that are migrating more and more to the periphery, looking for benefits such as: easily accessible parking spaces, proximity to home, locations in premium business buildings, and give up the effort to enter the conurbation from the center of Bucharest. Because, in the current context, most meetings take place via video call, quick access to the city center is no longer an equally important criterion for Commons customers. Thus, companies are looking for smaller offices for teams of 2-5 people, offices closer to home, Commons managers registering the greatest interest for the newest coworking space in Băneasa, which is a location sought by professionals living in the area north of Bucharest.
“Working from home has been a solution to the beginning of the pandemic, but this way of working does not work for everyone and often cannot be a long-term solution. This confirms the growing number of visitors who cross our threshold, interested to return to an office at least partially The reason is simple, they are either tired of working from home or do not have the necessary conditions to be able to work efficiently. Our goal in the Commons is to provide a place where our members can focus on what they have to do, while we take care of all the other details: a comfortable desk, stable internet connection, meeting rooms, printer, scanner, etc. ” explained Andreea Raveica.
Both freelancers and entrepreneurs are looking for a flexible, close-to-home office with a 24-hour schedule, very useful especially for those who work with clients or business partners who are on a different time zone.
